  1. LINOCONV.EXE is a utility to convert PC PageMaker PostScript output files
  2. to a form acceptable by a Linotronic or other imagesetter driven by a Mac.
  3.  
  4. These files, as created by PageMaker, contain a Control-D character as the
  5. first and last byte in the file.  These Control-D's choke a Mac, and must
  6. be removed prior to outputting these files through a Mac to a Lino.
  7.  
  8. To use the program from any subdirectory, copy the LINOCONV.EXE file to
  9. a directory that is a part of your PATH statement.
  10.  
  11. Typing LINOCONV at a DOS prompt will display the instructions for using
  12. the utility.
  13.  
  14. USAGE:  LINOCONV [drive] [pathname] filename.ext
  15.         
  16.         Wildcards (*, ?) are allowed in filename.ext.
  17.  
  18. EXAMPLES:
  19.         To convert the file OUTPUT.PRN in the current directory, 
  20.         type LINOCONV OUTPUT.PRN
  21.  
  22.         To convert all files with an extension of .PRN in the current
  23.         directory, type LINOCONV *.PRN
  24.  
  25.         To convert all files on drive C in the subdirectory PM4 with an 
  26.         extension .PRN, type LINOCONV C:\PM4\*.PRN
  27.  
  28. If the program is successful in removing the Control-D characters, it
  29. will report this fact to you for each file it converts.  If the file
  30. is not a PostScript file, or has already been converted and does not
  31. contain Control-D characters, the program will bypass the file and
  32. report this to you on the screen.

  34. LINOCONV.EXE will run as a DOS application under Windows 3.x. 
  35. LINOCONV.ICO (an icon file) is included, along with a LINOCONV.PIF file
  36. which will prompt you for the drive/pathname/filename.ext parameters
  37. needed.  Please follow the Windows instructions for installing this
  38. program as a DOS application.

  40. LINOCONV.EXE has been thoroughly tested by me, as I do DTP for a living
  41. and create PostScript files for Lino output on a regular basis.  However,
