  69.  INTRODUCTION
  70. LASR-MAN prints  ASCII text files on a laser or ink jet printer in any of 
  71. thirty-six  different  styles.   They  include  the  normal  portrait  or 
  72. landscape orientation with either 10,  12,  17, 23  or 33  characters per 
  73. inch (cpi),  landscape with two pages per side (pps)  at 17  cpi or eight 
  74. pps at 33 cpi, and portrait with four pps at 23 cpi. Each of these styles 
  75. may  use  multiple  passes,  printing on both sides of each sheet.   This 
  76. allows up to sixteen pages of sixty  lines each to be printed on a single 
  77. sheet  of  letter  size paper.  Configuration data is included  to  allow 
  78. printing on A4 and legal size paper. 
  79.  
  80. In addition, the program has the ability to print individual files,  each 
  81. in the form of a booklet, or a group of files may be printed together, as 
  82. chapters of a book, in the form of a manual with two, four or eight pages 
  83. per side. Each book page will contain one, two or four text pages. 
  84.  
  85. Other  options  include selection of only files that have  been  changed, 
  86. page   titles,   substitution  of  spaces  for  tabs,   binding  margins, 
  87. underlining,  covers,  a half-tone "rubber stamp",  print font selection, 
  88. and a variety of option switches. 
  89. Options may be specified as an environment variable, on the command line, 
  90. in  an  option file or  by menu selection while the program  is  running. 
  91. Files to be printed may be selected in the same manner. 
  92.  
  93. LASR-MAN  prints only unformatted ASCII files.  If you use it to print  a 
  94. .COM file or a document stored in coded form by a word processor such  as 
  95. WordPerfect, the output will look strange. 
  96.  
  97. The only control characters that  are passed to the printer are  carriage 
  98. return (13),  line feed (10) and form feed (12). The tab character (9) is 
  99. converted to spaces. All other control characters (0-31)  are replaced by 
  100. a '■'. Valid characters (32-255) are printed 'as-is'.
  101.  
  102.  MAIN MENU
  103.    The ╔══╡ NORMAL SEQUENCE OF LASR-MAN OPERATIONS ╞══╗ is:

  105.     1.·SETUP  the  drive/directory on which the file(s)   to  be  printed 
  106.        reside. 
  107.     2.·Set  the  printing OPTIONS desired if different from the currently 
  108.        set options. 
  109.     3. Perform FILES SELECTion to tag the file(s) for printing.
  110.     4. PRINT the selected files.

  112.     5. EXIT the program.

  133. Any FUNCTION may be accessed from the MAIN MENU, or any  option menu,  by 
  134. pressing its [highlight letter] or [ALT][highlight letter].
  135. The  BACKGROUND DISPLAY,  at both MAIN MENU and FUNCTION MENU  selection, 
  136. may contain a variety of information.  The BACKGROUND DISPLAY information 
  137. status is shown on the top line after "D>" (The user level is shown after 
  138. "M>". The codes are:

  148. MATION  DISPLAY has eight levels,  any of which may be set by  repeatedly 
  149. pressing the [TAB] key. 
  150. SOFT FONT AVAILABILITY
  151.  
  152. If  the Print Font Display Status option has been toggled to "Yes",   the 
  153. availability of all possible LASR-MAN  soft fonts  will be displayed upon 
  154. initialization.  This display shows both those fonts that are present and 
  155. those that have not been loaded.
  156.  
  157. The  last two letters of the font name denote orientation and font  type: 
  158.  
  159.     P=Portrait                          0=STAMP-IT!         
  160.     L=Landscape                         1=LaserJet+         
  161.                                         2=LaserJet II/III/IV
  162.                                         3=DeskJet
  163.

  168.  SETUP MENU
  169.            The ╔═══╡ SETUP FUNCTION ╞═══╗ MENU includes:

  171. DATA PATH......(N)..Change  either the drive and/or the directory path to 
  172.                     the data files to be printed. 
  173. CHANGE·CONFIG..(A)..Load a file that will modify the current printer con-
  174.                     figuration set by the  configuration file and select-
  175.                     ion of the paper size and source.
  176. USER LEVEL.....(N)..Select the user level of menus & displays to use.
  177. PRINTER........(A)..Select the type of printer - LaserJet or DeskJet. 
  178. PRINT FONTS....(E)..Select the printer soft fonts/type fonts to use.
  179. MONITOR........(E)..Toggle the display between monochrome,  CGA color  (8 
  180.                     background colors) and EGA/VGA color (16 background). 
  181. MENU COLORS....(E)..Change the colors of any of the eight menu types.
  182. RESTORE·CONF...(E)..Reset  the  printer  configuration  to  the  selected 
  183.                     default standard. 
  184. RESTORE OPTIONS(E)..Reload the initial default program options.
  185. RESTORE PATH...(E)..Reset the data  directory path to the one that was in 
  186.                     effect when LASR-MAN was initiated. 
  187. ═>To  select  a SETUP OPTION,  press its highlighted letter or  move  the

  192.  CHANGE DATA PATH
  193. This option will set the drive and directory from which files may first 
  194. be selected/tagged and then printed. 
  195. The DRIVE MENU displays all valid drives, "A" thru LASTDRIVE,  as defined 
  196. by CONFIG.SYS. 
  197.  
  198. Those  drives  that are CAPITALIZED are currently available,   while  the 
  199. lower case drives are not. 
  200.  
  201. The current DRIVE is highlighted.
  202.  
  203. ═>To select the DATA PATH DRIVE, press its highlighted letter or move the 
  204. highlight bar to it and press [ENTER].
  205. The  SUBDIRECTORY PICK LIST displays the available subdirectories of  the 
  206. currently defined drive/directory DATA PATH. 
  207.  
  208. The "accept path" option will accept the DATA PATH as currently displayed 
  209. to the right of the DIRECTORY DATA PATH option. 
  210.  
  211. The ". [root dir]" option (if shown) will reset the DATA PATH to the root 
  212. directory of the current drive. 
  213.  
  214. The  "..  [parent]"  option (if shown)  will remove the last subdirectory 
  215. that was added to the DATA PATH. 
  216.  
  217. Pressing   [highlight  letter] will move the highlight bar to  the  first 
  218. subdirectory whose name starts with that letter.
  219.  
  220. ═>To select  one of these options or to add another subdirectory  to  the 
  221. DATA PATH, move the highlight bar to the desired item and press [ENTER]. 
  222.  
  223.  CHANGE CONFIGURATION FILE
  224. There are two types of printer configuration files included with BOOK-IT. 
  225. They are: 
  226.  
  227. 1.·The standard printer configuration file, LASR-MAN.LMG,  containing the 
  228.    commands  common  to  all paper sizes and  source  bins,   paper  size 
  229.    specific  printer  commands,  and paper source  bin  specific  printer 
  230.    commands.   This  file  is accessed by the SETUP FUNCTION  options  of 
  231.    PRINTER  and PRINT FONTS,  OPTIONS FUNCTION options of PAPER SIZE  and 
  232.    STYLE OF OUTPUT, and PRINT FUNCTION option PAPER SOURCE. 
  233.  
  234. 2.·Override  printer configuration commands may be  contained  in  change 
  235.    configuration files, having an extension of "*.LMC". 
  236.  
  237. Only  the  second  type  of configuration file can be  loaded  with  this 
  238. option.
  239. The  CONFIGURATION  FILE PATH LIST MENU displays the PATH  subdirectories 
  240. that contain files with an extension of ".LMC". 
  241.  
  242. If there is only one PATH subdirectory that contains ".LMC"  files,  this 
  243. menu  will  not  be  displayed and the  program  will  next  display  the 
  244. CONFIGURATION FILE PICK LIST. 
  245.  
  246. Pressing  [highlight  letter]  will move the highlight bar to  the  first 
  247. subdirectory path displayed whose name starts with that letter. 
  248.  
  249. ═>To  select  a PATH subdirectory from which a configuration  file may be 
  250. selected,   move the highlight bar to it and press [ENTER].  The  program 
  251. next displays the CONFIGURATION FILE PICK LIST. 
  252. The  CONFIGURATION  CHANGE  FILE  PICK LIST displays the  files  with  an 
  253. extension of ".LMC", located on the selected CONFIG FILE PATH. A  maximum 
  254. of  seventy-five files can be shown at one time:  to display others,  use 
  255. the cursor control keys noted on the help line. 
  256.  
  257. ═>To  view  the  contents of any CONFIGURATION  CHANGE  FILE,   move  the 
  258. highlight  bar  to the desired file name using the arrow keys  and  press 
  259. [F2]. 
  260.  
  261. ═>To select a CONFIGURATION CHANGE FILE, move the highlight bar to it and 
  262. press [ENTER]. Pressing [highlight letter] will move the highlight bar to 
  263. the first file displayed whose name starts with that letter. 
  264.  
  265. ═>To return to the SETUP menu, press [ESCAPE].

  267.  USER LEVEL

  290. There  are three USER LEVELS of option menus and displays available  with 
  291. LASR-MAN. They are: 
  292.  
  293.     NORMAL....(N)..Basic options to select and print files 
  294.     ADVANCED..(A)..Expanded options such as page titles and option files 
  295.     EXPERT....(E)..Full system options 
  296.  
  297. For  a  summary  of the various LASR-MAN options available at  each  USER 
  298. LEVEL, press [PAGEUP]. 
  299.  
  300. As  distributed,  LASR-MAN  is set for the basic MENU level of NORMAL and 
  301. DISPLAY level of NORMAL, for Function menus only. 
  302.  
  303. ═>To return to the SETUP menu, press [ESCAPE].
  304.  
  305. ═>To select  the  desired  USER MENU LEVEL,   press  the  desired level's 
  306. highlighted letter or move the highlight bar to it and press [ENTER]. The 
  307. DISPLAY LEVEL menu is next displayed. 
  308. DISPLAY
  309.  
  310. The  DISPLAY  LEVEL MENU determines how the BACKGROUND  INFORMATION  will 
  311. appear  when  the  program  is waiting for either at the  MAIN  MENU  for 
  312. Function selection or at one of the FUNCTION MENUS for Option selection. 
  313.  
  314. The  higher  level options will also display the lower option settings  - 
  315. EXPERT will display NORMAL, ADVANCED and EXPERT option settings. 
  316.  
  317. The primary reason for this option is to allow an uncluttered display for 
  318. those that desire it. 
  319.  
  320. ═>To return to the SETUP menu, press [ESCAPE].
  321.  
  322. ═>To select the desired  USER DISPLAY LEVEL,   press  the desired level's 
  323. highlighted letter or move the highlight bar to it and press [ENTER].
  324.  
  325. A  prompt  to  determine when to display the  BACKGROUND  INFORMATION  is 
  326. displayed next. 
  327. MAIN?...
  328.  
  329. The BACKGROUND  INFORMATION  is  normally displayed  when  any  MAIN MENU 
  330. FUNCTION is selected and it's OPTION MENU is displayed. (Note that it can 
  331. be suppressed by the previous USER DISPLAY LEVEL menu.) 
  332.  
  333. Additionally,   the  BACKGROUND  INFORMATION can be  displayed  when  the 
  334. program is at the MAIN MENU waiting for a FUNCTION to be selected. 
  335.  
  336. ═>To return to the SETUP menu, press [ESCAPE].
  337.  
  338. ═>To  additionally display the BACKGROUND INFORMATION at the  MAIN  MENU, 
  339. press [Y]. 
  340.  
  341. ═>To suppress the BACKGROUND INFORMATION display at the MAIN MENU,  press 
  342. [N]. 
  343.  
  344.  PRINTER
  345. LASR-MAN  can  supports  both LaserJet and  DeskJet  printers.   LaserJet 
  346. support is denoted on this menu by "LJet" and DeskJet by "DJet". 
  347.  
  348. A variety of program parameters are affected by the choice  of  printers. 
  349. These include PAPER SIZE,  PAPER SOURCE and PRINT FONT  TO USE,  both for 
  350. the individual fonts and globally. 
  351. The print fonts available for the various printer selections include:
  352.  
  353. LaserJet +.....Internal and Type 1 soft fonts - a 192 character soft font 
  354.                set  (ASCII  32-127  and 160-255),  in both  portrait  and 
  355.                landscape,   is required by some  of  the  early  LaserJet 
  356.                models and their compatibles. In general, use Type 1 fonts 
  357.                only if your printer will not work with Type 2. 
  358. LaserJet II....Internal and Type 2 soft fonts - ASCII characters  32-255, 
  359.                in both portrait and landscape,  is required for  LaserJet 
  360.                II and compatibles that cannot rotate  a  portrait font to 
  361.                landscape. (HP IID/P can rotate fonts) 
  362. LaserJet III/IV..Internal and Type 2 soft fonts,  in portrait mode  only, 
  363.                for  LaserJet IID/IIP/III/IV and compatibles.  THIS IS THE 
  364.                NORMAL DEFAULT. 
  365. DeskJet, 0K....Internal fonts only, required for DeskJet, DeskJet +,  and 
  366.                DeskJet 500 and compatibles.  These printers, without add-
  367.                itional memory, are not capable of accepting soft fonts. 
  368. DeskJet,·256K..Internal and soft fonts for DeskJet printers with at least 
  369.                a 256K memory cartridge, and compatibles. 
  370. This  PRINTER selection function will not change these program parameters 
  371. until a different printer is selected. At that time,  all of the affected 
  372. parameters are set to their default values. 
  373.  
  374. ═>To leave the PRINTER as currently selected, press [ESCAPE].
  375.  
  376. ═>To change the PRINTER to the desired one,  press its highlighted letter 
  377. or move the highlight bar to it and press [ENTER]. A print change message 
  378. will then be displayed.
  379.  
  380. ═>To leave the printer as currently set, press [ESCAPE].
  381.  
  382. ═>To change the printer, press any other key.
  383.  
  384.  PRINT FONTS TO USE
  385. Printer  fonts used for the five possible output pitches may be  selected 
  386. by use of this option. 
  387.  
  388. Most  laser/ink jet printers have internal 10/12/16  cpi fonts  (although 
  389. they may  not  be  able to print these three fonts in  both  Portrait and 
  390. Landscape).  Use of the internal fonts,  or those from a cartridge,  will 
  391. produce  higher  print speeds than  using  the soft fonts,   due  to  the 
  392. required  soft  font  download  time.  All  five  supplied  sets  of  the 
  393. downloadable soft fonts are modified Letter Gothic. 
  394. The three choices, for each of the five pitches, are: 
  395.  
  396.  INTERNAL......Use  an internal printer font,  one from a cartridge, or a 
  397.                previously loaded soft font.  Do NOT download a soft font.
  398.                LASER DEFAULT FOR PICA, ELITE, AND LINE PRINTER PITCHES.
  399.  192·CHAR......Download  a  TYPE 1 soft font.  This font will  print  the 
  400.                ASCII characters  32-127  and 160-255.  This option should 
  401.                be  used for older LaserJets and those that emulate  them. 
  402.                (NOT AVAILABLE WITH DESKJET PRINTERS) 
  403.  256·CHAR......Download a TYPE 2 soft font (normal).  This font  produces 
  404.                all  printable  characters and should be used for most  HP 
  405.                II/III/IV-compatibles. DEFAULT FOR SMALL AND TINY PITCHES.
  406. ═>To  toggle  the FONT TYPE for an OUTPUT PITCH,  press  its  highlighted 
  407. letter  or move the highlight bar to the desired PITCH and press [ENTER]. 
  408. If the PORTRAIT (and/or LANDSCAPE)  FONT for that PITCH is not present, a 
  409. message will be displayed and that FONT TYPE will NOT be selected. 
  410.  
  411. ═>To return to the SETUP menu, press [ESCAPE].
  412. Additionally,   the  program can display the status -  available  or  not 
  413. available  - of all of LASR-MAN's soft fonts during initialization.  This 
  414. display can assist in resolving printing problems by quickly  determining 
  415. if the desired fonts are present.
  416.  
  417. ═>To toggle whether the soft font status will be displayed during program 
  418. initialization, press [D]. 
  419.  
  420.  CHANGE MENU COLORS MENU
  421. The  CHANGE  MENU  COLORS MENU options include the eight  TYPES  OF  MENU 
  422. windows used by LASR-MAN and a default colors reset. 
  423.  
  424. ═>To reset all of the menu colors to the original defaults, press [D].
  425.  
  426. ═>To  change  the  colors of a MENU TYPE window,  press  its  highlighted 
  427. letter or move the highlight bar to it and press [ENTER]. 
  428.  
  429. A  sample menu window with the current colors is displayed.  This  sample 
  430. will show how the menu will appear as the colors are changed. 
  431.  
  432. ═>To  change  the BACKGROUND COLORS,  use the [UP] and [DOWN] arrow keys. 
  433. There are sixteen background colors. 
  434.  
  435. ═>To change the FOREGROUND COLORS, use the [LEFT] and [RIGHT] arrow keys. 
  436. There are sixteen foreground colors. 
  437.  
  438. ═>To accept the menu color change,  press [ENTER] . The display will then 
  439. be refreshed to show the changed colors. 
  440.  
  441.  RESTORE CONFIGURATION FILES
  442. Selecting  this  option can reset the printer parameters to the  standard 
  443. used for the selected PAPER SIZE and SOURCE BIN. A verification prompt is 
  444. first displayed and then, on a positive response, the program rereads the 
  445. standard  printer  configuration  file for the selected  PAPER  SIZE  and 
  446. SOURCE BIN commands. 
  447.  
  448. ═>To restore the printer commands without any changes, press [Y].
  449.  
  450. ═>To leave the printer commands as they are currently set, press [N].
  451.  
  452.  RESTORE PROGRAM DEFAULT OPTIONS
  453. Selecting this option first displays a verification prompt and then, on a 
  454. positive response, resets the basic program options to those that were 
  455. in effect when the program was first installed.. 
  456.

  532.             or four pages of text on one side (pps) of the paper sheet.

  535. Pamphlet....Each  selected file is printed using two,  four or eight pps, 
  536.             both sides. Each file is printed on separate sheets.

  632.  PAGE TITLE TYPE MENU
  633. The  PAGE  TITLE TYPE MENU determines whether each page will  be  TITLED, 
  634. and, if so, where that TITLE will appear.

  636. Header.........A  PAGE TITLE consisting of user specified fields followed 
  637.                by  a  blank  line  is printed at the top  of  each  page. 
  638.                Specifying these  fields and their defaults are covered on 
  639.                the following help pages. 
  640. Footer.........A blank line and a PAGE TITLE consisting of user specified 
  641.                fields is printed at the bottom of each page. 
  642. hEad/foot......On sheets where 1 and 2 pps are printed, same as "HEADER". 
  643.                On 4 pps and 8 pps,  the top vertical text page is printed 
  644.                with a header and the bottom vertical page with a footer. 
  645. fOot/head......On sheets where 1 and 2 pps are printed, same as "FOOTER". 
  646.                On 4 pps and 8 pps,  the top vertical text page is printed 
  647.                with a header and the bottom vertical page with a footer. 
  648. No page title..No PAGE TITLE is printed. Instead,  two more lines of text 
  649.                will be printed for each text page.

  698.  OPTION FILE
  699. Option  files  contain pre-defined sets of LASR-MAN  program and printing 
  700. options that have been  set either from the  command line or by selection 
  701. menu.

  703. Although  they may be created/edited by a text editor or word  processor, 
  704. they  are  normally  created by first setting the desired options on  the 
  705. command  line and/or selection menu and then saving these current options 
  706. with  the  EXIT FUNCTION, SAVE OPTIONS option. 
  707. The  OPTION  FILE  PATH LIST MENU displays the PATH  subdirectories  that 
  708. contain OPTION FILES with an  extension of ".LMO".  OPTION FILES normally 
  709. contain  option settings from previous LASR-MAN sessions that  have  been 
  710. saved. 
  711.  
  712. If there is only one PATH subdirectory that contains ".LMO"  files,  this 
  713. menu will not be displayed and the  program  will next display the OPTION 
  714. FILE PICK LIST. 
  715.  
  716. Pressing  [highlight  letter]  will move the highlight bar to  the  first 
  717. subdirectory path displayed whose name starts with that letter. 
  718.  
  719. ═>To select a PATH subdirectory from which a OPTION file may be selected, 
  720. move the highlight bar to it and press [ENTER]. The program next displays 
  721. the OPTION FILE PICK LIST. 
  722. The OPTION FILE PICK LIST displays the files with an extension of ".LMO", 
  723. located on the selected OPTION FILE PATH. A maximum of seventy-five files 
  724. can be shown at one time: to display others,  use the cursor control keys 
  725. noted on the help line.

  740. may be of any length and will be printed before all of the other selected 
  741. files. 
  742. SELECT COVER FOR PRINTING - PATH LIST

  744. The  COVER  FILE PATH LIST displays all PATH referenced directories  that 
  745. contain LASR-MAN cover files, those  having an extension of ".LMV". 
  746.

  772.                     PAGES/SIDE,   to start each new file on the next page 
  773.                     or the next ODD page. 
  774. SWITCH TITLES.......Switch the left and right title fields on even pages.
  775. BINDING BORDER......Reads  a special configuration file that will give  a 
  776.                     1/2"   binding border on the long side of the printed 
  777.                     sheet. 
  778. PRINT FORM FEEDS**..Normally  a form feed code will cause  the  following 
  779.                     text to appear on the next page. If NO, FF codes will 
  780.                     be ignored; if ***, FF code are replaced by a line of
  781.                     special characters.
  782. TITLE HEADERS.......Title  fields normally have a header in the  form  of 
  783.                     "...:  ". If NO,  these headers will not be displayed 
  784.                     nor will they print. 
  785. PAGE DIVIDERS**.....Menus will define the type of horizontal and vertical 
  786.                     page  dividers to print between multiple  text  pages 
  787.                     per sheet side. 
  788. PAGE FLOW >2PPS**...Text page flow,  horizontal or vertical on multi-text 
  789.                     pages per side output styles. 
  790. BLANK LINE..........Print or suppress text blank lines.
  791. NO LEFT MARGIN**....Suppress blank character left margins.
  792. SPACE/TABS**........Define the number of space in a text tab character.
  793. TAB PRINT WIDTH**...Define the number of spaces to use for a tab on 
  794.                     output.
  795. TEXT WORD WRAP**....Select method to use for printed line overflow.

  806. ***............Replace  form  feed  characters  with a  line  of  special 
  807.                characters to denote the page break, but do not add a form 
  808.                feed to the printed output.  Using this method, the locat-
  809.                ion of the form feed character will then be visible in the
  810.                output.

  856. are 5 blank spaces at the beginning of each line,  setting NO LEFT MARGIN 
  857. to 5 will allow the page to print properly,  using a style of output that 
  858. has 80 characters/line.

  860. ═>To  change  the NO LEFT MARGIN option setting,  press  its  highlighted 
  861. letter or  move the highlighted bar to it and press [ENTER].  Its current 
  862. value will be displayed for editing.

  871. then,  on output, converts all tabs to spaces. Correct use of this option 
  872. switch,   along  with  the  next,  TAB PRINT WIDTH,  will  assure  proper 
  873. alignment of the final output.

  875. The  SPACES/TAB option switch should be set to the value used by the text 
  876. editor or word processor that generated the document to be printed.  This

  915.                and  the  remaining text is then placed on the next output 
  916.                line.   Single  carriage  returns  are ignored and  double 
  917.                carriage  returns  are  processed  as  such.   This  is  a 
  918.                "paragraph" approach  to preparing the output and will not 
  919.                work well with tabular or graphical text material.

  928. the files lines per page is different than the selected style of output's 
  929. lines per page.

  931. For example,  if a text file has 66  lines per page without any form feed 
  932. characters  and  the selected style of output prints 72  lines per  page, 
  933. setting the  LINES PER PAGE LIMIT to 66  will result in  properly printed

  1109. for TRAY  input,  it is not reversed; for duplex printers, it is ignored. 
  1110. The setting of  this  option  is normally automatic,  based on the  PAPER 
  1111. SOURCE selected.  However it may be over-ridden  by toggling this option, 
  1112. after first selecting the desired printer paper source.

  1118. Printer  output  is normally directed to the LPT1  port.   This  toggling 
  1119. option allows the printer output to be directed to LPT1-3,  COM1-4, or to 
  1120. a disk file, LASR-MAN.PRN.

  1125.  PRINTING MENU
  1126. After file selection for printing,  a  PRINTING option menu is displayed. 
  1127. This menu has three options for printing text pages,  four  for  skipping 
  1128. them  and  one to cancel printing.  The title line  of  the PRINTING menu 
  1129. specifies  which printing pass this is (1  or 2)  and  where the  printed 
  1130. output should be directed to after being printed.  When first  displayed, 
  1131. it is highlighted to alert you to set the printer for  this output before 
  1132. printing any sheets. 
  1133.  
  1134. An  ACTION  window is displayed at the lower left depicting  the  current 
  1135. sheet  -  [  ] - and the relative location on it of this text page -  ▓▓. 
  1136. (Note that there may be from one to eight text pages on the sheet) 
  1137.  
  1138. ═>To print only this sheet and prepare for the next, press [P]. This will 
  1139. print all of the text pages for this side of this sheet. 
  1140.  
  1141. ═>To print all of the sheets for this file and this pass, press [F]. 
  1142.  
  1143. ═>To  print all of the sheets for this and all remaining  selected  files 
  1144. for this pass, press [A]. This is the normally selected option.

  1208. contains specific  notes  for  your printer - they may  differ  from this

  1211. ═>To  print  the back side of these sheets,  remove the  PASS  1  PRINTER 
  1212. OUTPUT and use it as the INPUT FOR THE NEXT PRINTER PASS. Place the FIRST 
  1213. PASS OUTPUT printed paper such that the printing  at the TOP OF THE SHEET 
  1214. is positioned as described in the informational display.  Set the printer 
  1215. for the proper output path.

  1217. If  the  MULTI-PURPOSE  input tray is to be used for the  second  printer

  1352. upon system registration.

  1354. A  REGISTRATION  INFORMATION data entry window is displayed.  Enter  your 
  1355. company  name/your name and then the system's serial number (from  inside 
  1356. the front cover of the system's manual)  using the alphanumeric  keys and 
  1357. the cursor control keys shown on the bottom help line.

  1359. ->To exit the program without completing the registration process,  press 
  1360. [ESCAPE]. 
  1361.  
  1362. ->To accept  the name and then the registration number as  edited,  press 
  1363. [ENTER].  An informational  message  will be  displayed when the branding 
  1364. process is complete for this system. Press any key to continue. 
  1365.  
  1366. ->If  the registration number as entered is NOT valid,  pressing any key, 
  1367. other  than [ESCAPE],  will allow re-enter  of  the registration  number. 
  1368. Pressing   [ESCAPE]  will  exit  the  program  without   completing   the
