- Introduction and Overview
-
- The original design for Analyzer III was created in 1991 by a local
- handicapper in Memphis, TN. The basic idea was to retain past race
- performance information in a database file and apply factoring
- parameters to particular race data for each greyhound. The results
- of the factoring is tabulated to a base score or point. You would
- then use these scores to aid in picking the best choices for a
- wager. The lowest score or factored data is best
-
- The factoring parameters are maintained in a seperate file which
- can be modified, therefore the results in the tabulation of data
- may be changed. There are recomended MAXIMUM limits to each factor.

- GETTING STARTED
-
- Create a directory that will hold your programs and files.

- directory will be created automatically when an archive process
- is requested.
-
- To run ANALYZER III type dogs at the C:> prompt and press [CR].
-
- The first screen you should access must be the Factoring parameters.
- Press 6.
-
- You should see a screen similar to the example below:
-
- ╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗
- ║ Factoring Parameters ║
- ║ ║
- ║ 1) Default Number of races for analysis : 0 ║
- ║ 2) Early speed factor : 3 ║
- ║ 3) Late speed factor : 2 ║
- ║ 4) Grade factor for 'A' : -2 ║
- ║ 5) for 'B' : -1 ║
- ║ 6) for 'C' : 0 ║
- ║ 7) for 'D' : 1 ║
- ║ 8) for 'E' : 2 ║
- ║ 9) for 'M' : 3 ║
- ║ 10) Attitude divison factor : 2 ║
- ║ 11) Post position division factor : 2 ║

- press [CR] only to skip the field. Use '<' key to
- go back one field. Press [ESC] to cancel all.
-
-
- 1) Default Races
- Enter the Maximum number of races you wish to select from
- the database of race lines. If you leave value at 0 then
- the Analyzer III will use the most recent 4 race lines to
- analyze.
-
- 2) Early Speed Factor
- Is not used in this module
-
- 3) Late Speed Factor
- Is not used in this module
-
- 4) Grade factors
- Enter a value for each grade. This value is based on the
- grade of the race line and a total value for all race lines
- in the grade is accumulated.
-
- 10) Attitude division factor
- The win percent of each dog will be divided by this factor.
-
- 11) Post position division factor
- The calculated values of post position will be divided by
- this factor. Values are based on post and track preference.
-
- 12) Propensity to win factor
- This is a base number to begin calculating the ability of
- a dog to come in at least 3rd in a race.
-
- 13) Skip input Race Number
- 14) Skip input Length won by
- 15) Skip input Odds
- If you answer 'Y' to any of these parameters Analyzer III
- will skip over input of this data during entry of lines.
-
- 16) Auto save
- Answer 'Y' if you don't want Analyzer II to prompt you
- to save every race line.
- Answer 'N' if you want the oportunity to modify any data
- that has been entered before saving.
-
- 17) Auto Pick feature
- Not available in this module
-
- 18) Speed division factor
- Each dogs calculated speed value is divided by this factor.

- UTILITIES
-
- There are several utility programs which will help you
- maintain your database.
-
- 1) Perform Race Line integrity check.
- This utility verifies that all lines in the database
- belong to the proper dog.
-
- 2) Set beginning race pointer
- When you begin a database for a dog, the race line
- pointer starts with the first one you entered. The
- number of race lines can get quite long. This utility
- will allow you to begin the pointer at an more recent
- race line. All other lines will remain dormant in the
- database.
-
- 3) Reset race pointer to beginning
- This utility reverses what you did above.
-
- 4) Remove dog from index
- If you wish to flag a dog for removal use this
- program. It will flag the index for later removal
- during a rebuild. You will not be able to locate
- any flagged dog.
-
- 5) Archive race lines
- This program will remove race lines to an archive
- directory C:\DOGARC
-
- 6) Backup dog dat files
- This should be self explanatory
-
- 7) Rebuild deleted data files
- This utility rebuilds the database of race lines and
- does not include any flagged dogs.
-
- 8) Look at or print archived races
- Self explanatory
-
- 9) Do a dog name list
- Show list of dog's names by letter you enter.
