  2.                                 Apple Salve
  3.  
  4.          Fry 1 large or 2 small sour apples in 1 cup lard,
  5.          leaving peelings on apples. Add a piece of beeswax the
  6.          size of a hulled walnut. Let the wax melt and then
  7.          strain the mixture and pour the liquid into a receptacle
  8.          with a lid. This is especially good for burns and is
  9.          healing to all wounds that do not require a treatment to
  10.          countract poisons.

  12.                                 Blackheads Tan and Freckles
  13.  
  14.          Slice very thin 6 lemons. Pour into a jar 1 pound Epsom
  15.          salts and put the lemon in and mix well. Seal up jar and
  16.          let a liquid form. Use this to rub on the face at night
  17.          about once a week. In the morning wash off with clear
  18.          warm water, and follow with a rub with soap water,
  19.          rubbing quite hard. If used once a week, girls need not
  20.          be bothered with pimples, blackheads or tan.

  22.                                 Brown Spots on Hands

  24.          If there are brown spots on the hands, a saturated
  25.          solution of hyposulphite of soda may be used. Use it
  26.          freely, it is not always effective.

  28.                                 Freckles

  30.          Mild cases may be helped by using borax dissolved in
  31.          rose water, applying several times a day. Another method
  32.          is to dampen the finger tips, dip in powdered saltpeter
  33.          and apply directly to the freckles. Repeat until they
  34.          dissappear. Again to cover the face with almond paste
  35.          and then pat lemon juice into the skin will remove some
  36.          freckles. Keep out of the sun and hot wind and do not go
  37.          into the sun when the face, hands and arms are wet.

  39.                                 Warts

  41.          Anoit several times a day with spirits of camphor. In a
  42.          few weeks the warts will be gone and without any marks
  43.          remaining.

  45.                                 Dandruff
  46.  
  47.          A dandruff remedy which has been found most effective
  48.          is: Sixty grains of sulphur mixed with one ounce of
  49.          vaseline and applied every other night to the scalp,
  50.          with massage. Where there is dandruff it is well to wash
  51.          the hair twice a week at first, gradually lengthening
  52.          the time to every ten days or two weeks.

  54.                                 Frosted Feet
  55.  
  56.          The best thing for frosted feet is to anoit the the
  57.          parts with sweet spirits of nitre. A small amount
  58.          purchased from the druggist will cure all the frosted
  59.          feet one person can have.
