This disk contains the executable file for the microcomputer version of
FLUSH, a computer program to analyze sanitary sewer systems. The program is
written in FORTRAN and should run on any version 2.0 or higher of MS-DOS or PC-
DOS if at least 256K of memory are available. It will utilize a math
coprocessor if available. FLUSH, in one form or another, has been used on
over 100 projects and studies throughout the United States in the last
several years.
If your distribution disk contains the file FLSMALL.EXE, you have the
small version of FLUSH which handles 15 conduits. If your distribution
diskette contains the file FLUSH.EXE, you have the full version of FLUSH which
handles 500 conduits. Except for the size of the system handled, the small
version has all the features of the full version. The small version (but not
the full version) may be freely distributed, as long as no more than $10 is
charged for its distribution. The full version is available from the author or
authorized distributors for $295. A printed copy of the manual is available
from the author for $20 (can be credited towards program purchase).
Any user of this program should read the manual entitled "FLUSH: A USERS'
MANUAL" by Michael Fuerst. Purchasers of the full version receive a printed
copy of this manual. Distribution diskettes with the small version contain a
copy of the manual in two files named FLMAN1.SML and FLMAN2.SML. To print
these files on any dot matrix printer,
(i) set your printer to 12 cpi,
(ii) set the printer to the top of the page, and
(iii) type COPY FLMAN*.SML PRN at the DOS command prompt.
This disk also contains a file DFLUSH2.DAT, containing the data for the
sample problem in the user manual.
To use the program, put the file FLUSH.EXE or FLSMALL.EXE in disk drive
and directory from which you can acess from the DOS prompt. To start the
program, in response to the DOS prompt type x:pFLUSH (if you have the full
version) or x:pFLSMALL (if you have the small version), where x and p are the
drive and path (if needed). Upon starting, FLUSH prints a copyright notice,
and reminds you to set your keyboard to upper case mode. It next asks for the
name of the file containing the system description. After reading the input
data, FLUSH permits you to enter the interactive commands described in the
user manual.
The author will constantly revise the program in response to user
requests.
Questions and suggestions concerning FLUSH should be addressed to the
