  1. Within the past week QNET3.0 rel 6/19/93 has locked up when scanning for
  2. outbound messages in the enclosed conferences.  Nothing short of reboot
  3. seems to put me back in control.  This is the first trouble I've had
  4. with Qnet.  Each time I got in trouble I went to Qnet and made the bad
  5. conference LOCAL and repeated the scan. In each case this corrected the
  6. problem.  I'm sure you'll agree that this is unsatisfactory for the long
  7. run.

  9. The BBS is running PCBoard 15.0 with pcb=/oldindex in the environment. I
  10. also run PCBPACK with the /oldindex command line parameter.  I recently
  11. put in the 7/15/93 versions of PCBoard and PCBpack but upon encountering
  12. these troubles I regressed to 6/28 versions which formerly worked well.
  13. The problem with CONTEST occurred after I switched back.  During the
  14. period covered by this report, I have frequently run PCBpack /area:all
  15. /update and it reports "no update necessary" for every conference.  I
  16. have no trouble reading messages in local PCB mode in any of these
  17. conferences.

  19. I suspect you may come to the conclusion that there is something amiss
  20. with the conference files - that is why I am sending them.  However, the
  21. reason I send them to YOU rather than CDC is that the symptom occurs
  22. when running QNET not when running PCBoard.  If you find some sort of
  23. problem and want to blame it on software other than Sparkware, please
  24. let me know so I can deal with the proper support group.  If possible I
  25. would appreciate advice on how to correct the files so that I can put
  26. these conferences back on line.
