  1.                Osteoarthritis (Degenerative Joint Disease)
  2. SYMPTOMS may include the increasing of pain in the joints after exercise,
  3. becoming stiff after inactivity (this usually lasts only 15 to 30 minutes),
  4. grating or creaking of joints on movement and enlarged joints.
  5. CAUSES are unknown at this time. Involves loss of cartilage in the joints.
  6. TREATMENT. Medication, heat applications, weight reduction.
  7. .In very severe cases, replacement of the joint.
