  2. SYMPTOMS usually start with excessive urination then hunger, weight loss and
  3. excessive thirst. Later signs may include nausea, loss of appetite, vaginal
  4. and other infections, vomiting, blurred vision, impotence and numbness.
  5. CAUSES involve a disturbance in the body's use of insulin, or inadequate
  6. production of insulin by the pancreas. Mostly common after 40 years of age.
  7. TREATMENT. Exercise, diet, insulin or oral anti-diabetes drugs required.
