Infectious Mononucleosis (Glandular Fever)
SYMPTOMS may include chills, fatigue, headache, malaise, then sore throat
high fever and swelling of the lymph node. There may also be difficulty with
breathing, swelling of the eyelid, coughing, chest pains and jaundice.
CAUSES. It is transmitted via close contact, such as with mouth or nose. It
is usually benign, normally last only 1 to 4 weeks although some 2-3 months.
TREATMENT. Medication may be prescribed. Gargle with salt water. Bed rest.
