Epilepsy
SYMPTOMS include movements that are involuntary and loss of consciousness
that may be prolonged or brief. With GRAND MAL seizures there may be signs
such as spots before the eyes, ringing in the ears and tingling of the
fingers. This may be followed by loss of consciousness, falling, contraction
of muscles and loss of bowel or bladder control. The seizure usually lasts
from 2 to 5 minutes and may be followed by headache, sleep and muscle
soreness. PETIT MAL seizures mostly occur in children and there will be loss
of consciousness for 10 to 30 seconds, activity will temporarily cease and
twitching about the mouth and eyes. PSYCHOMOTOR seizures cause clouding of
consciousness for 1 or 2 minutes, staring, staggering, mental confusion and
movements that are purposeless.

deterioration of the mental capacity.
