  6. 5.40B  Compile date August 30, 1991
  7.  
  8.       BIBLUP will automatically detect which version of BIBL you
  9.       are converting from (pre 5.0 (or) 5.0 - 5.39). It will not
  10.       perform conversion on an existing 5.40 or later database...
  11.       an action that would corrupt the file.
  12.  
  13.       Now when making a BIX file under EXPORT (option J - Labelled),
  14.       the BIX extension is automatically added, if fact, it is
  15.       forced. If you give BIBL some other extension for your
  16.       output file it is changed to BIX.  Field length for output
  17.       file name increased to 25 characters--to help those wanting
  18.       to write the file to another sub-directory.

  20.       Layout of record display changed. Now Author, Title and
  21.       Publisher fields appear on successive lines. Then a
  22.       blank line, then class, subject and descriptor, another
  23.       blank, then the note lines...

  27.       Publisher field increased by 70 characters.  Now two lines,
  28.       you'll need to run BIBLUP.EXE to convert any existing BIBL
  29.       database you may have to the new format.

  33.       Discovered that SUBJECT bibliographies weren't writing
  34.       to disk unless BRIEF format was chosen.  Fixed it...believe
  35.       this error crept in with release 5.31.

  37.       Some utility programs have had to be changed to work with the
  38.       new structure:

  40.       BIBL5RX is now BRX.EXE          Conversion utility: BIBLUP.EXE
  41.       BIBL5IN is now B540IN.EXE

  43.       Older BIX files will work with 5.40, but you won't get
  44.       the 2nd line of the publisher.

  46. 5.40A Test version. Limited release. Turned out to have a minor quirk in
  47.       WP style output when 2nd publisher field existed.

  51. 5.34E A bit more work to better support monochrome users. Now using
  52.       /m switch extends BIBL's mono support to menus and a few other
  53.       areas.

  55. 5.34D Reworked menus giving much 'cleaner' looking screens for monochrome
  56.       operation. A few other minor cosmetic changes made across the program.

  58. 5.34C Indexing progress graph moved and expanded.  Now it's a bit
  59.       smarter.  If you have fewer than 50 records, each block
  60.       represents a record, over 50, each block is 2% of the file
  61.       indexed.  Indexing now runs about 10% faster due to other
  62.       tweaks.

  64.       Fixed minor problem with global change function.  If you made
  65.       a change that resulted in a cascade of changes (that is, your
  66.       intended edit actually set off an endless loop of character
  67.       substitutions), BIBL would fill the screen with the garbage.
  68.       Now it's chopped off at 70 characters and doesn't trash the
  69.       screen.

  71. 5.34B Ability to stop during a global change session added. The .BIX
  72.       extension introduced to help identify labelled transfer (export)
  73.       files.  Several minor fixes to improve operation of the program
  74.       when running with databases on remote drives.
  75. 5.34A GLOBAL find & replace added.
  76. 5.33A ASCII Import function added in registered version.
  77.       Documentation (BIBL.DOC) reworked.
  78. 5.32b Minor problem...forgot to tell BIBL to look for BIBL.HLP, not
  79.       BIBL5.HLP when displaying information file (I on main menu).
  80. 5.32a Store files on other drives (registered version only)
  81.       Name of program reverts to BIBL.EXE
  82.       Name of help file changed to BIBL.HLP
  83.       Several other cosmetic changes.

  90. 5.30D Fixed bug in the delete a database function.
  91. 5.30C Fixed memory pointer problem--during testing of release
  92.       5.30, discovered that on rare occassions the system would
  93.       hang during call to external editor.
