  14. "As official Washington got down on its knees before the American
  15.  people to sell the 1990 budget agreement, it declared that spending
  16.  had been cut to the bone and a tax increase was essential to reducing
  17.  the federal deficit.  The 1992 Pig Book clearly demonstrates that this
  18.  was a big lie!  Instead of reducing our deficit, the 1990 tax increase
  19.  is funding more than $8 Billion worth of pork-barrel projects, and the
  20.  deficit will skyrocket in 1993 to an unprecedented $400 Billion.

  22.    Hmmm.  That's One Thousand, Six Hundred Dollars per person, based on
  23.            US Population of about 250 Million, Men, Women & Children.

  25.  "Pork-barrel spending includes programs which serve no national
  26.   interest, such as roads which go virtually nowhere, 'scientific
  27.   studies' which yield no practical data, or acquistion of property and
  28.   construction of projects which benefit a limited number of people or
  29.   special interests."

  31.  "This year's 'Pork King' title goes to Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV).
  32.   Byrd used his position as chairman of the Appropriations Committee
  33.   to funnel $510.8 Million in special projects and earmarks to his
  34.   home state of West Virginia."

  36.  "The government has no money except that which WE taxpayers earn and
  37.   give to it or which it borrows, on which WE pay the interest.  But
  38.   Congress is continuing to squander our resources and bankrupt the
  39.   nation, so WE are left holding the bag..(see Note #1)..Contact your
  40.   Senators and Representatives -- either by phone or by mail -- and
  41.   demand an explanation. It's time we hold our elected representatives
  42.   accountable for how THEY spend OUR money!"
