  6.          PhoneBook can be run directly from a floppy disk or can be 
  7.          installed on your hard disk.  If you choose to run it from
  8.          a floppy disk, first make a copy of the original.  You
  9.          should never run the program from the original diskette.
  10.          If you are running from a floppy, do not write protect the
  11.          disk containing PB.EXE, since a configuration file will be 
  12.          saved to this disk.

  14.          If you wish to run PhoneBook from a hard disk, you will first
  15.          need to copy all of the files from the distribution diskette
  16.          to your hard disk.  For example, you might want to place all
  17.          of the files under the PHONEBK directory.  To do this, first
  18.          create a subdirectory by typing:

  20.          CD\ (ENTER)
  21.  
  22.          Make a new subdirectory:
  23.  
  24.          MD PHONEBK (ENTER)
  25.  
  26.          Copy the files to the new subdirectory:

  28.          COPY A:*.* C:\PHONEBK (ENTER)

  34.          Once you have the files where you want them, it would be a
  35.          very good idea to browse through the user's manual.  The
  36.          complete documentation for PhoneBook is contained in the file
  37.          PBMANUAL.DOC.

  39.          To print this file, change to the directory containing
  40.          PBMANUAL.DOC and type:

  42.          COPY PBMANUAL.DOC PRN (ENTER)
  43.  
  44.          The manual is 17 pages long and is formatted to print to
  45.          8 1/2 by 11 sheets.

  47.          For those of you who would rather charge right
  48.          in and use the program, you'll find that the program is
  49.          fairly user friendly, and you may only occasionally need to
  50.          refer to the manual.
