This demo version is our FULL CaLANdar product with the following limitations:
- It works for only 1 month from date of installation.
- The Demo allows 100 users; 1,10,50, & 100 user versions available for sale.
MSI can generate versions for over 1000 users by special request.
- A French Language Version of CaLANdar is also available by calling MSI.

program at each user. F-12 or CTL-Shift-C are the "Hot-Keys"
Use may change hot-keys etc. on the CALTSR command line.
For your autoexec.bat, you may use CALTSR /Uusername. If you
invoke CALTSR without any options, it will display them.
CRNULL.EXE Creates empty Calandar data files (Run by CALINST).
CALINST.EXE Install Program. RUN THIS FIRST !!!!
CALUINST.EXE Un-install & Delete all CaLANdar files

CALBBS.EXE Very Easy-to-Use Communications program to call the MSI BBS to

TESTRITE.EXE Checks the User Access Rights to CaLANdar Directories and /W will
list the Usernames with their associated Filenames.
The program MM.COM will allow you to see how much memory DOS has allocated to
resident software. You can use this to see how much memory CALTSR etc. uses.
Installing this demo version of CaLANdar:
1) Run A:CALINST or B:CALINST (depending on the floppy drive) and follow the
instructions on the screen. You will not be able to register the software,
unless this is an Upgrade to an existing installation.
Notes Concerning installation.
- You MUST use the CALINST program to install CaLANdar as it will create
the proper directory structure. You MUST have Supervisor R/W/Create
authority to run this program.
- If running the CALTSR or CAL programs from a Network login script you
may need to specify the entire drive and path of the directory in
which caLANdar is installed. Novell login scripts must be set up this
way.
- If installing on a network, you must have FULL access to the root
directory of the drive you are installing it to, as the installation
program writes temporary files into the root, and creates subdirectories
off of the CaLANdar directory.
- The memory requirements for CALTSR are as follows:
With LIM EMS Approximately < 1.1 K
Without LIM EMS Approximately < 7.0 K
With HILOAD, MAXHI, LOADHI etc. 0.0 K !!!!
- Note: If CALTSR "Hangs" when loaded, It is probabably because it is
attempting to find out if it is already loaded in HI-Memory. If
this happens, Invoke CALTSR with /H The /H Switch disables
Hi-MEM checking. Alloy MultiWARE 1.1 exhibits this condition.
If your bottom line BLINKS, you should also use this /h switch.
You might also try /E- for No EMS Use. There is a /c1 option
for CAL & CALTSR setting an alternate Color-Set as well. The
/b+ option forces B & W mode and is best for Lap-tops.
- If you have version 1.0x or 1.1x of CaLANdar installed, You must run
CALUINST prior to installing this revision as the data structures are
no compatible.
- If you have 1.2x of CaLANdar installed, simply run CALINST again and it
will Update the files and preserve your DATA & Appointments.
- Make sure that the Sysmanager has Read/Write/Create/Delete Privledges
and ALL users should have Read/Write/Create/Delete in x:\CAL\T sub-dir.
- If you have a local Hard drive on your workstation, we suggest the
following .BAT file for best performance.
x:\CAL\CALTSR /U%username% /DE C:\ /P-
where x = Netdrive, %username% is environment variable with Username
and C:= Local Hard Drive, and P- will only ask for Password once.
For info on using CALTSR with Windows 3.0, refer to the CALxxx.VER file.
Mouse Control was added in Release 1.23C In general, the Motion simulates
the <Arrow Keys>. The Left Button is Generally <Enter>, The Right Button
<F-10> (Save and Back a Level) & Both Buttons are <F-3> (Goto View). If you
are prompted for Yes / No by CaLANdar, the Left Button is YES and the right
button is NO. Please give us your feedback on this new feature.
NetWARE Bindery Import Pre-release. Create a group under NetWARE called
CALANDAR_USERS. Select any users on the system that you wish to be part of
that elite group. Under Sysmanager in CaLANdar, go to the Add User and
the Extract NetWARE Group which will get this group from NetWARE and put
it into a local file called NETNAMES.DAT Then, Import NetWARE Group and
follow the instructions to add them into the CaLANdar System. You will
have the option to confirm the addition / deletion of users. Please let
us know what you think of the facility and any additional "bells & whistles"
it should have. Note: You can NOT run this option from the TSR. You must
log into the Network CaLANdar Directory and run CAL to use this option.
The "TOPVIEW" Facility that was added in 1.24B allows each user to create
a LOCAL Group called TOPVIEW which designates anyone whom THEY choose to
allow viewing of THEIR Top Level (1st 38 characters) Appointments. When
you go to the Graph Appointments, Go to a time & date, and hit <F3>, you
will see all conflicting appointments. In addition, you will see the Top
Level Descriptions of their conflicts if YOUR name was included in THEIR
TOPVIEW Group. TOPVIEW also shows the OWNERS of Busy Resources if the
resource is selected prior to <F3>.
1.24F adds FYI (For Your Information) to Tasks and Appointments. When
selecting a user (invite), simply press the <Alt-Space> and an (I) appears.
A copy of the appt/task will be sent to the USER but not figure into the
person's schedule or the Global RSVP status of the meeting. Both N and I
RSVP Status will display with a (.) on ANY reports indicating that you are
not expected to attend the function either thru "Information" or "declining"
the invitation. The <Shift-Space> also works for systems with older Kbds.
TRICK #1- Some people may find the following useful to get a report for
a Group of people. ...Create a user on the system called
GROUP-VIEW or such and have all interested members send an FYI
of each of their Appointments and/or Tasks to GROUP-VIEW. If
you print any report of GROUP-VIEW (change-user or Hotkey) then
you will have all the members Calendars/Tasks rolled into one.
The operation of CaLANdar is relatively intuitive. Simply invoke CAL and
"Look Around". We will be happy to furnish you with a complete set of User
& System Manager Guides if you call us at the number below or call our
Courteous Support Staff for a "Guided Tour" over the phone.
