The following files are on your disk:
BLAKBOOK.EXE -- the main program
BBUTIL.EXE -- utilities program. Is called by BLAKBOOK or
can be run independently.
BLBK30.CFG -- Configuration file. Holds screen color and
printer configuration data. This file would
also be created by running BLAKBOOK.EXE. The
file included on the disk has a number of
printers already entered. You may have to
enter the printer configuration character-
istics to correctly create a pocket sized
print out. This is not difficult, just refer
to the appendix of your printer manual and
add it. I would suggest that you have only a
few entries in your database while you are
testing your printer configuration. This
will save time and paper.
BLAKBOOK.DOC -- A text file describing the changes that have
taken place over the years. There are some
hints for use but there is no manual, as
such. The program is very simple to use and
is single key menu driven.
UPGRADE.EXE -- Used to upgrade previous version data files
to be compatible with version 5.0.
README.1ST -- This file.
SQZBB.COM -- Used to upgrade the database created by BLAQUE
BOOK version less than 2. ERASE this program
if you don't need it.
If you have no previous BLAQUE BOOK data files you do not need to
read further.
If you already have a copy between version 2 and 4.0, use the
upgrade program to convert your database.
If you have a very old version of Blaque book, ie less than
version 2.0, use the SQZBB.COM program ONCE on the COPY of your
existing blaque book database file (BLKBOOK.DAT). That will
convert it to a version 2/3 database format which you can then
convert using UPGRADE.EXE.
Read the BLAKBOOK.DOC file regarding changes in version 5.0. It
is greatly improved over previous versions but the file types are
NOT COMPATIBLE.
The latest change in BLAKBOOK 512 was the ability to eliminate
the shareware message when the program is run. You may do this
by a modification to the DOS Environment. From DOS type:
SET NOMSG=1
you may also add this command to your autoexec.bat file. For more
information on the Environment, check your DOS manual.
