EDITORIAL
Dear Reader;
Welcome to the first issue of The Free American Magazine! We are
happy to greet you in these electronic pages, because you are the reason
we are here.
For you, the reader of electronic literature, we users of The
Free American electronic bulletin board gathered some of our favorite
writings, and created some new ones, to illustrate for you the motto
of our bulletin board:
"Your free speech rights can change the world."
How?
When you freely express yourself, you give new thoughts and ideas to
all who hear or read your words. New thoughts and ideas are what change the
world within each of us.
And when our inner world changes, sometimes that makes us want to
change the world around us.
This first issue of The Free American Magazine brings you words and
thoughts on both the lighter and more serious sides of life. Some of these
words may make you smile. Some may make you think. Some may cause you to
want to change the world, and some of our writers suggest ways it can
change, and ways you can take action.
That's why we believe the free speech rights guaranteed to Americans by
the First Amendment to our Constitution are among the most important of our
freedoms.
Enjoy this first issue of The Free American Magazine. Let us know how
you like it. What did you like best in this issue? Tell us, so we can bring
you more of your favorite reading material in the next issue. And express
your words and thoughts - we'll put your comments in a special "Letters"
section of our next issue.
Get online and connect with The Free American at 703-768-FREE - it's
free, of course! Or write us, c/o Glinda Productions, Box 7103, Alexandria,
Va. 22307. We want to hear from you, because "Your free speech rights can
change the world," for the better.
