  6.   TRIAL USE OF VERSION 1.10

  8.     You are granted a limited license, free of charge, to use dBAT.EXE version
  9.     1.10, for a trial period of 90 days.  By the end of this trial period we
  10.     ask that you either register your copy or delete all your copies.  Please
  11.     remember: dBAT.EXE is a commercial software product, even though it is
  12.     distributed by the Shareware method.

  19.     Registering dBAT.EXE for all Level 1 versions:

  21.     A license for dBAT.EXE may be purchased for $25.00 (version 1.10).
  22.     This payment entitles the registered user to:

  24.     1. Free upgrades, obtained by modem from a BBS source, for all Level 1.xx
  25.        versions.  Upgrades requested on disk will have a $15.00 shipping &
  26.        handling charge.

  28.     2. dBAT.EXE is licensed to you (not to your computer)!  You may make and use
  29.        as many copies of dBAT.EXE and its included files as you like.  You may
  30.        use dBAT.EXE on as many computers that you own as you need.  You may
  31.        install and leave dBAT.EXE on the computers of clients that you support.
  32.        You may give it away!  The copies you create are licensed to you under
  33.        these terms.

  35.     3. dBAT.EXE may be used for and distributed to nonregistered users under
  36.        your license as long as no fee is charged for dBAT.EXE itself.  A fee
  37.        may be charged for custom batch files that are created using dBAT.EXE.

  39.        Unless you purchase (register) dBAT.EXE yourself you may not distribute
  40.        dBAT.EXE to anyone else, except to post the unaltered distribution
  41.        dBAT.ZIP file to a BBS.

  43.        LICENSE EXAMPLES: 
  44.        A corporation that registers dBAT.EXE may install dBAT.EXE and related
  45.        files on all the computers that they own without paying any additional
  46.        fee beyond the single registration fee.  However, a employee of that
  47.        corporation may not legitimately take home a copy of dBAT.EXE for his
  48.        personal computer, unless the corporation owns that computer.  The
  49.        employee must register his own copy.
  50.  
  51.        A software developer who writes a custom menu for a client may install
  52.        dBAT.EXE on the PC or PC's that he was hired to develop for without a
  53.        further license.  He may repeat this process for all of his clients
  54.        without a further license.  The client may copy dBAT.EXE and the custom
  55.        developed batch file to other computers that they own.  However, if the
  56.        client then wishes to create new batch files using dBAT.EXE, they must
  57.        now license dBAT.EXE for themselves.

  59.        Hardware or software vendors may not simply include dBAT.EXE with the
  60.        sale of their goods if no custom work using dBAT.EXE has been performed
  61.        for the purchaser.

  63.        We feel this is a very generous license.  It allows registered
  64.        corporations and software developers to treat dBAT.EXE almost as if it
  65.        were their own without regard to site licensing, limited numbers of
  66.        users, or further registering / purchasing of additional copies.

  68.        IF in doubt, please register.  The license fee is modest and the
  69.        distribution policy is generous.  Registering will encourage further
  70.        enhancement of dBAT.EXE and all future level 1.xx version are free to
  71.        registered users when downloaded from a public BBS.
