  1. README.1ST FILE          DATAPRO PROGRAM          January 1992

  3.     DATAPRO#.EXE  Data Processing Course
  4.     Version 3    Registration copy $20.00, plus $2.00 p/h
  5. DESCRIPTION:  Take this data processing course, written for a computer
  6. training school.  Gain skills.  Apply for and get a good job.  Has a warm-
  7. up on-screen numeric keypad for learning number input, six data-input
  8. programs (invoices, mail order records, voting records, addresses, sales
  9. commissions, and payroll), two job tests that companies use to find
  10. qualified people, and an action numbers game in which you type numbers
  11. before they fall like missiles and destroy your city buildings.  This is
  12. also an excellent program for use by teachers of data processing!

  14.      DATAPRO is sent in one file named DATAPRO#.EXE.  To put DATAPRO#.EXE
  15. on your hard disk, make a new  directory by typing MD C:\DATAPRO [ENTER]. 
  16. Then type COPY A:DATAPRO#.EXE C:\DATAPRO [ENTER].  Then go to the new
  17. directory by typing CD C:\DATAPRO [ENTER] and type DATAPRO#.  The file will
  18. split up into over a dozen files.  (The next time you wish to start up the
  19. program, just type CD C:\DATAPRO [ENTER] and then type DP [ENTER].)  If you
  20. do not have a hard disk, tell us your IBM floppy disk size so we can try to
  21. get you a usable program.  (There is not enough room on 360K disks to split
  22. DATAPRO#.EXE into different files on Drive A:.)

  24.      For the data input programs there are data files (PRINTME files) that
  25. must be printed out by you BEFORE you use the program.  When these are
  26. printed, you will get the exact data needed to type into the six input
  27. programs.  So turn your printer on, go to the DATAPRO directory if you are
  28. not already there (type CD C:\DATAPRO [ENTER] to go there), and print out
  29. the files like this:

  32.      TYPE PRINTME.L&N > PRN    [ENTER]  (Wait for printing to stop.)
  33.      TYPE PRINTME.PAY > PRN    [ENTER]  (Wait for printing to stop.)
  34.      TYPE PRINTME.SAL > PRN    [ENTER]  (Wait for printing to stop.)
  35.      TYPE PRINTME.VOT > PRN    [ENTER]  (Wait for printing to stop.)
  36.      TYPE PRINTME.VOT > PRN    [ENTER]  (Wait for printing to stop.)
  37.      TYPE PRINTME.ADD > PRN    [ENTER]

  39. There are about 30 pages to print for each of the first two files, and only
  40. 5 or 6 pages to print for the others.  To bind the printed sheets together,
  41. you might use BINDER CLIPS, obtainable at any office supply or Kmart.

  43.      As you gain input speed and accuracy, and are happy with scores on
  44. timing printouts, you may send the printouts, $1.00 for each, and a stamped
  45. self-addressed envelope to the address below, and receive HONOR ROLL
  46. Certificates of Achievement (with your name and printout information on
  47. them), suitable for framing, or copying and mailing to possible employers
  48. as part of your job application letters.  They show your proficiency!
  49.  
  50.      A school room version of DATAPRO (with pertinent school information)
  51. and permission to make backups for one classroom is available for $20.00
  52. plus $50.00 per classroom, and $2.00 once for postage/handling.  If wanted,
  53. ask for a school version of DATAPRO for each classroom.  Extremely easy to
  54. use, DATAPRO has been thoroughly tested at a computer training school.
