H.C.W.P. "CORE" LIBRARY documentation
The core library addresses low-level processing. Some of you may have noticed
that printf doesn't work in color, and that linking in the graphics library so
you can use color increases the size of your programs to an unacceptable
extent. It becomes necessary to develop "tactics" to handle the screen with C.
Such a screen management technique is included.
Keyboard input is also supplied. The inpt routine should fill all your needs
to get data from the user. It has several options.
Near to far memory movement, access to multiple line printers, combining and
centering strings, processor-speed independent wait, etc. etc. etc.
As the code contains far functions and data items and constitutes a module you
will need to use the MEDIUM memory model for compilation. The medium model
gives 64K default code and data segments. To exceed 64K of code in the medium
model you use multiple modules and then link them together. To exceed 64K data
you use the far keyword with _fmalloc, placing items on the far heap.
These routines are, mostly, small and quick. There's too many of them for me
to go through and write you a little story about each one. They should, along
with a listing of the PC's BIOS interrupts, explain themselves.
Have fun!
