THE GAME
────────
During the first two weeks you will not be able to make any transfers. You
can view your current squad and look at their individual stats. The number
which appears with each player indicates how good he is, 0 being the worst and
500 the best. A player's rating may even go higher than 500, depending on how
good he plays. This is only a measurement of how good a player is.
TRANSFERS
─────────
Transfers can only be made every 3rd week and a maximum of 5 at a time.
You can buy players from other clubs in Italy, or internationals playing
outside Italy. When making an offer for a player, you must consider the
following facts: Good players are hard to get, because their clubs won't let
go of them that easy, unless you can come up with the money. You can offer a
club less for a player than he is actually worth, but that will decrease your
chances of getting the deal. Any offer less than 80% of the player's price will
be rejected by a club. High offers will result in better chances. If your
offer was rejected, you will have to wait 10 games before you can make an
offer for the same player again. When selling your players, you can't ask too
much, for clubs don't like to pay too much. Anything more than double a
player's price will be rejected by other clubs. If a club rejects your offer,
you will have to wait 5 games before you can attempt to sell the player again.
Clubs will also not buy any player that is injured or suspended. At the start
of the game, it is good to sell players at every opportunity and buy better
players to replace them so that you can start building a good team that will
get promotion (or avoid relegation!). Depending on which level you are playing,
you will soon find out what the average rating is you will need to survive in
each division. These are roughly the figures for level EASY:
Serie C/2 - 60 ( Remember these figures can't guarantee survival.)
Serie C/1 - 140 ( For winning the different divisions, your rating )
Serie B - 280 ( should be 100 more than the survival rating. This )
Serie A - 400 ( is only a guideline and you can even win a division )
( on the survival rating or be relegated on the )
( winning rating. )
-Scout Option: The scout is there to tell you where to find players of certain
ratings and positions. The more you pay the scout, the better deal he is
likely to spot. Remember, a player spotted by your scout is not
necessarily accepting a offer from you - he is just the best available
player compared to his price, as spotted by your scout. The more you pay
the scout, the further he will compare players. If you pay him 1,000 for
instance, he might just take the first 2 players he gets and recommend the
best of them, while if you pay him say 5,000, he will maybe take 10 or
so players and compare all off them and then recommend the best of them.
Remember, on any screen selection, international players will be marked by a
small dot ∙ to help you from identifying them.
HINT : To make money (and thus buy better players), always try to sell players
at double their value. If clubs don't take them, try again later, also
for double the value.
FINANCES
────────
Your finances are very important. The better your team perform, the more
people will attend the games and the higher your income will be. You must
also pay your players a weekly fee (each player has a fixed fee which might
increase if they stay at your club long enough), pay money to keep your
grounds in shape and some diverse expenses. You will also have to keep an eye
on the following things:
-Stadium capacity : You must build seats for your stadium. Remember - the
bigger your stadium, the more people can come and watch and the bigger
your income will be. Use the indicator at the match report to see how
many people attended your match. If there wasn't a 100% attendance, then
you don't need to enlarge your stadium. A friendly word of warning -
don't go into dept. Remember, Italy boasts the finest football league in
the world and obviously the people will attend Serie A matches in their
thousands. For security reasons you must have 50,000 seats at your
stadium before entering Serie A. If you don't meet the standards, you
will stay in Serie B. It is not necessary to expand your stadium beyond
100 000 seats. At normal speed, seats are build at a rate of 500 seats
per week. High speed is double as fast, but three times as expensive.
-Pitch Condition : You need at least some grass on your pitch to get promotion
to Serie C1 and you need smooth full grass pitches to get promotion after
that. Draining is necessary to keep your pitch in its current condition.
-Scoreboard/Floodlights : The scoreboard and floodlights will increase your
home income per spectator, because with floodlights you can host night
games which is more convenient for spectators and the scoreboard will
increase the quality of the services you provide to your spectators.
-Ground facilities : With bad facilities you can only accommodate small
crowds, because they have no parking near the stadium and the restroom
facilities are inefficient. The better your facilities, the better your
attendance will be, depending on your log position of course.
-Press facilities : This determine the publicity your team gets which directly
influences sponsor interests in your team. If you can't provide good
publicity, you will very easily loose a sponsor and it will be very
difficult to get one back. On the other hand, good press facilities will
result in better sponsorship opportunities and sponsorship bonuses.
-Medical staff : The main use for the medical staff is to reduce injuries to
your players. The better your medical staff is, the better the chances
will be that a player will need less time to recover from a injury. On
the other hand, the better your medical staff, the higher their fees will
be.
-Youth team : As any good club, you also have a youth scheme at your club. The
more money you put into it, the sooner you may reap the results. The youth
team produces players for your senior squad and the more money you put into
it, the sooner and more often they will produce players.
-Ground Maintenance : The
