  27. Alternately, you can load this file "MANUAL.TXT" into your word processor 
  28. (this file is ASCII text with no embedded characters.)  You can also 
  29. redirect the manual to your printer by typing the following at the DOS 
  30. command line.  "TYPE MANUAL.TXT > PRN" then push ENTER.

  62. 1. The game supplied is an unregistered version.  This version is
  63.    provided as a demonstration of the game capabilities and provides 
  64.    a fully functioning BACCARAT simulation.  Some game enhancements 
  65.    are reserved for those users who find this game to be a worthwhile 
  66.    investment. Shareware is a try before you buy marketing method. If 
  67.    you make regular use of this software, you are expected to "purchase"
  68.    it by paying the registration fee. As an incentive to register this 
  69.    program, I will send you the newest version of this software complete
  70.    with all the game enhancements not available in the unregistered 
  71.    copy.  These features are listed below.

  73.              REGISTRATION BENEFITS
  74.  
  75. 1. Your registered version will no longer have registration reminders
  76.    on screen.
  77.  
  78. 2. Your registered version will save all game information for all players
  79.    and will recall this information for each new game allowing the player
  80.    to continue a game started in a previous session.
  81.  
  82. 3. Your registered version will save the last game speed and chip value 
  83.    you used.  New games will start with your game speed and chip value 
  84.    loaded.
  85.  
  86. 4. Your registered version will allow up to 6 "Human" players to play at  
  87.    one time.  Any seats not occupied by a human will be filled in by computer
  88.    generated players.  The unregistered version allows only one "Human" player
  89.    to play at a time.

  91. 5. Sound Blaster support is provided.  If you have a Sound Blaster or 100%
  92.    compatible system, you can order the optional voice pack for this game.
  93.    These files will allow you to hear digital recordings of the words seen
  94.    in the talk balloons.  This provides for a more realistic and entertain-
  95.    ing game.  NOTE: When all voice files are decompressed to your hard disk,
  96.    they will occupy nearly 1 mega byte of space.

  98. 6. Registered users can order additional "ULTIMATE" games at a 20% discount.
  99.    The registered version of the games "Ultimate Blackjack" and "Ultimate 
  100.    Gin" can be purchased for $8.00 each (regular price is $10.00).  If 
  101.    you order the Voice Pack for Ultimate Baccarat, you will receive the Voice 
  102.    Pack for all other "ULTIMATE" games you purchase free.  If these games are 
  103.    ordered at one time, you need only pay one shipping and handling fee for 
  104.    the entire order.  See "OTHER ULTIMATE GAMES" at the end of this file
  105.    for a description of these games.

  109. Please print a registration form to see the price list, or type the 
  110. file "orderfrm.txt" to the screen.

  112.              PRINTING A REGISTRATION FORM
  113.  
  114. A registration / order form can be printed out by selecting Baccarat Info 
  115. when playing the game, then push "P" or push "P" while reading this game 
  116. manual.  The form is ASCII text and should print on most printers.  If you 
  117. can't print out of copy of the registration / order form, just send us the 
  118. information above.  The file name for the order form is "ORDERFRM.TXT", 
  119. you can load this file into your word processor for print out if desired.  
  120. Please include the type of disk desired.  Better yet, give us a call at 
  121. 619-247-2804 or 800-272-6746 and charge it.

  124. Money Order (specify U.S. currency) or supply the credit card information

  127.             INSTALLATION / SET UP
  128.    
  129. The game should be installed to your hard disk with the install program
  130. provided.  All required game files are compressed to the file 
  131. "ULTBAC.EXE".  A listing of all required files can be found in the 
  132. text file "PACKLIST.TXT".  The compression and extraction routines used
  133. for diskette data is LHA and is copyrighted by Haruyasu Yoshizaki. LHA is
  134. used as per the terms of Mr. Yoshizaki's documentation.

  136.               GAME START UP
  137.  
  138. The game is started by typing "BACCARAT" after being properly installed.
  139.  
  140.                COMMAND LINE OPTIONS
  141.  
  142. The following letters may be included on the command line when invoking 
  143. the program to provide the following results.
  144.  
  145.       /D D or DEMO --- Starts the game in the Demo mode.  Push F-1
  146.                to end the Demo.
  147.  
  148.       /S S or SILENT - Starts the game without the Sound Blaster 
  149.                selected. 
  150.  
  151.       /F F OR FAST --- Starts the game with game speed set to 20.
  152.  
  153.       /T T OR TUTOR -- Starts the game with the tutor selected.
  154.  
  155.       /L L OR LOSEONTIE -- The game rules are changed so that bets on
  156.       Player or Banker lose to the house if the results of the hand is
  157.       a tie.  Normal rules make this situation a push and neither Player
  158.       or Banker bets win or lose.

  160. NOTE:  These command line options may be combined if desired.
  161.  
  162.             PLAYING THE GAME
  163.  
  164. The information provided below applies to the registered version of this
  165. game.  Some features are reserved for registered users.  See Registration
  166. benefits above for a list of these features.
  167.  
  168. Follow the prompts to sign in.  Up to 6 "HUMAN" players may play at the 
  169. same time.  If less than 6 "HUMANS" will play,  up to 3 computer players 
  170. will fill in the empty seats.
  171.  
  172. The first step is for each player to place a bet.  The player's name
  173. (who is next in line to place a bet) will flash until his bet is
  174. placed.  
  175.  
  176. The letter in () for each menu category may be used from the
  177. keyboard to access that menu item.  If in a sub menu, the first
  178. letter of the menu item will activate that menu event.
  179.  
  180. Buttons on a menu will not be present for a category that is N/A
  181. at that time.  For instance,  the (P)ush last bet category will
  182. only have a button next to it if the previous bet round was won. 
  183.  
  184. Escape will exit from the present menu to the invoking menu.  If in
  185. the MAIN MENU, pushing Escape will produce the same results as select-
  186. ing the QUIT button.

  190. Bet P(L)ayers --- implements the PLAYER bet.
  191.  
  192. Bet B(A)nkers --- implements the BANKER bet.

  194. Bet T(I)e     --- implements the TIE bet.

  196. NOTE: The chip value and as a result the range of bets available
  197. can be changed when in any of the 3 above menus.  Increase the chip
  198. value (bet amounts) by moving the hand pointer to the plus (+) button
  199. at the top of the menu.  Push the left mouse button to increase the 
  200. chip value in $5.00 increments with each mouse button push.  Push the 
  201. right mouse button to change the chip value at a faster pace.  Move the
