  4. Welcome to the release of Jot 1.0. If you're a user of Jot 0.7a, you'll
  5. notice a lot of changes and new features, which are documented in the
  6. help file. If you're not familiar with Jot, the help file describes the
  7. program and its use.

  11. There are two releases of Jot available -
  12. For Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups:
  13.     use JOT100W.ZIP (Win16 version)
  14. For Windows/NT 3.5+ and Windows95 (Beta):
  15.     use JOT100N.ZIP (Win32 version)
  16.  
  17. Jot works under Windows95, but does not yet take advantage of the new
  18. features of Windows95. Once Windows95 is released, a Win95 version will
  19. be forthcoming.

  23. This program is shareware. You may use it for 30 days free of charge,
  24. after which you must register the program if you continue to use it.
  25. The registration fee is ú20 (Pounds sterling).
  26. You can register by cheque, MasterCard/Visa, or Compuserve SWREG.

  30. If you register your copy of Jot by _30 SEP 1995_ you can get a discount
  31. of 20%! That's ú4 off the single-copy license!
  32. Unfortunately, SWREG registrations cannot claim the discount (it's not
  33. flexible enough to handle it).

  36. Unregistered copies of Jot may be freely distributed, as outlined in the
  37. help file.

  46. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  47.  
  48. FROM a .ZIP file:
  49. + Unzip to a directory of your choice.
  50. + Execute INSTALL.EXE
  51. + Follow the instructions
  52.  
  53. FROM a distribution disk (in A: drive):
  54. + Execute A:\INSTALL.EXE
  55.  
  56. If you are upgrading from 0.7a, please note that you will need to re-set
  57. your registration details, and preferences, as the format was altered
  58. for this release; your old settings are available if you revert to 0.7a.
  59. The file format is unchanged, so you can share files between the versions.
