- * Ribosomal protein L1e signature *
- ***********************************
-
- A number of eukaryotic and archaebacterial ribosomal proteins can be grouped
- on the basis of sequence similarities. One of these families consists [1,2,3,
- 4] of:
-
- - Drosophila L1.
- - Human L4.
- - Xenopus L1A and L1B.
- - Yeast L2 (RP2).
- - Schizosaccharomyces pombe L2.
- - Halobacterium marismortui HmaL4 (HL6).
-
- These proteins have 246 (archebacteria) to 425 (human) amino acids. As a
- signature pattern, we selected a highly conserved region in the N-terminal
- part of these proteins.
-
- -Consensus pattern: A-G-x(2)-T-x-A-E-S-[FYWQ]-G-[ST]-G-R
- -Sequences known to belong to this class detected by the pattern: ALL.
- -Other sequence(s) detected in SWISS-PROT: NONE.
- -Last update: June 1994 / First entry.
