Some cookie decorations like: candy corn, lifesavers, jelly beans, mini chocolate chips, sliced nuts, licorice, M & M's Candies
STEP 1
Begin by lightly greasing the cookie sheet. Then stir together the flours and baking soda in a small bowl. Next, beat margarine or butter and shortening with an electric mixer for 30 seconds. Add the sugars and beat till fluffy. Then add the eggs, milk, and vanilla and beat well.
STEP 2
Gradually add the flour mixture, beating the mixture until everything is combined. Stir in the rolled oats and walnuts. For each cookie, drop about 1/4 cup of dough onto the greased cookie sheet, and spread the dough into a 3-inch circle. Be sure to space the cookies about 3 inches apart.
Bake in a 375 degree oven about 12 minutes or untill the bottoms are lightly browned. Then cool on cookie sheet for 1 minute. Remove them from the cookie sheet and cool completely on wire racks. Repeat with remaining dough.
STEP 3
Using a narrow metal spatula, "paint" the top of each cookie with peanut butter.
STEP 4
Finally, "draw" faces of people on the cookies with cookie decorations.
