  1. BIRD BONNET

  3. YOU'LL NEED:
  4. Scissors
  5. One 6-inch paper plate
  6. Crayons, colored pencils, or markers
  7. Construction paper
  8. White crafts glue or tape
  9. Stapler
  10. Pencil or paper punch
  11. 12-inch piece of yarn or string
  12.  
  13. STEP 1
  14. Cut away up to half of the paper plate.  Then draw a bird face on the paper plate with crayons.  
  15.  
  16. Or, cut shapes out of construction paper, and glue the shapes to the paper plate.

  18. STEP 2
  19. For the beak, fold a piece of construction paper in half.  
  20.  
  21. Now cut a triangle on the fold of the paper. And the glue the folded edge of the beak to the front of the paper plate.

  23. STEP 3
  24. To make the headband, cut two 1 1/2 x 6-inch strips of construction paper.

  26. If you want wings, cut 2 wings out of construction paper, and glue 1 wing to each headband strip.

  28. STEP 4
  29. Staple the headband strips to both sides of the back of the plate.  With adult help, use a pencil to poke a hole near the end of each headband strip.  And finally, thread the yarn through holes.
