Leaf spots develop on leaves of plum, apricot,cherry, nectarine, and peach trees, aswell as on cane fruit. The spots spread and change colors, and the centers drop out. If the disease infects fruit spurs, the fruit will drop. You may also see leaves fall early, making the tree more susceptible to winter injury and less productive the next year. Plant resistant varieties. Remove and destroy diseased leaves. You should avoid excessive humidity or wetting of the foliage, especially late in the day when it will not dry before nightfall. Spray at fruitlet and leaf fall with ferbam, captan, Bordeaux, fixed copper, or lime sulfur.
