Late blight is common on potato and tomato in wet years. Infected plants develop brownish, purplish, or blackis spots, streaks, or blotches on the leaves and stems. During continuously moist weather, the disease develops rapidly and can seriously damage or kill plants. Dry weather stops the development of the disease. Control with fungicide spray.
