Small sucking insects that can damage many of your vegetables. They come in a variety of colors and cluster along stems and on leaves. Plants may become stunted or deformed. Prevent aphids by killing ants that support aphid colonies. Because aphids also carry disease, you should cut off and destroy heavily infected plant parts. Spray plants with a hose, or rinse them off with soapy water. You'll need to use chemical controls in severe cases.
