Moth orchid, which produces lovely, usually white blossoms on long stems, is one of the easiest orchids to get to rebloom each year. Its waxy blooms often are used in bridal bouquets. Varieties are available that bloom in colors other than white.
Light
Expose to medium (bright indirect) light. East window is best. Avoid full sun. Summer plant outside in partial shade.
Water
Keep evenly moist at all times. Mist daily. Raise humidity by setting pot on tray with moist pebbles. Outside, spray with fine mist daily.
Temperature
Maintain high temperatures during the day for best growth. Plant tolerates average temperatures. Avoid cold drafts; keep away from windowpanes during winter.
Comments
Use orchid potting mix. Add mix each year after bloom. During active growth, feed every 14 days with a mild solution that has a high nitrogen content. To encourage reblooming, cut off flower stalks after final bloom. Propagate by crown division when several plants form at the base of the plant.
