  5. Whether free-standing, trained to a support, or hanging from a basket, flowering maple boasts papery blossoms in an assortment of colors.  The blossoms last much of the year under ideal conditions.  Many varieties with a wide range of leaf shapes and colors exist.

  8. Place in high light (full sun) during winter and medium (bright indirect) light the rest of the year.  Blooms poorly in low light.  Place in shade outdoors in summer.

  11. Keep soil evenly moist.  Mist daily.  Prefers higher humidity.

  14. Maintain temperatures into the 50s at night for best growth.  Plant tolerates average temperatures.
