A tough plant, corn plant gets its name from the shape and color of its leaves. It occasionally produces creamy, scented blossoms indoors, but only under ideal conditions.
Light
Place in medium (indirect) light for best growth. Plant, though, tolerates many different light conditions. In low light, variegated leaves often lose striping but remain a lush green.
Water
Allow soil surface to dry between thorough waterings. Mist regularly.
Temperature
Maintain temperatures of 60 to 75 degrees. Avoid drafts.

Plant in rich soil that retains moisture but drains freely. Plant likes being pot-bound. Pinch off the growing tip to create a bush. If a tree shape is preferred, let the growing tip be. Clean leaves monthly with a damp sponge dipped in tepid water. Propagate by cuttings (tip or stem), air layering, or seed.
