Burro's-tail is one of the finest trailing plants for indoor gardening. As it matures, it forms pendulous silvery blue-green tassels. Pinkish red flowers appear at the tips of mature plants under ideal conditions.
Light
Place in high light year-round, preferably in south window indoors or direct sun outdoors. Augment low light with artificial light of up to 18 hours per day.
Water
Allow soil to dry out between thorough waterings. But do not let soil stay dry too long, or leaves will shrivel and drop. Do not mist.
Temperature
Maintain average temperatures. Tolerates from low 50s to low 80s. Avoid cold drafts or frosty windowpanes.
Comments
Keep out of traffic; bumps cause leaves to drop. Use porous soil. Fertilize no more than once every four months during active growth. Propagate by seed or leaf cuttings in spring. Let cuttings dry for five days before planting.
