Thrips are tiny insects that lacerate or rasp plant cells and suck the juices. Fruit, flowers, and foliage may be attacked, producing colorless streaks. To control, remove infested flower buds and all blossoms that have begun to fade. Recommended sprays for thrips will give some protection but must be repeated frequently. Rotate planting, if possible, and maintain sufficient moisture by proper watering and mulching.
