Also called pincushion flower
(Scabiosa)
Three-inch flower heads on plants 2 to 3 feet tall; dwarf varieties 14 inches. Blossoms are covered with long, silvery stamens. White, blue, rose, lavender.
Soil and Light
Full sun. Rich, well-drained soil kept moist.
Planting
Sow indoors 8 weeks early, or outside after frost danger. In warm climate, sow in the fall.
Comments
Use in mixed beds or planted in mass. Flowers are long-lasting in cut bouquets. Keep cutting for continuous bloom.
