Many shapes, sizes, and colors on plants 1 to 2 feet tall. Singles, doubles, semidoubles. Common garden petunia (P. x hybrida) has blossoms 2 to 3 inches across.
Soil and Light
Full sun to partial shade. Rich, well-drained soil kept moist.
Planting
Sow seed indoors 6 to 10 weeks before last frost, and set out plants after frost danger. Or buy transplants.
Comments
Use as border plants or in pots and tubs. Try cascade varieties in hanging baskets. Pinch back plants after first blooms to encourage branching.
