  4. Fragrant, small-petaled blossoms on compact plants 2 to 6 inches tall.  White, rose, and blue.  Varieties: Rosie O'Day, Violet Queen, Royal Carpet, Carpet of Snow, Sweet.

  7. Full sun.  Will tolerate some shade.  Tolerant of all soil conditions.

  10. Sow seed outdoors as soon as ground can be worked, or buy transplants.  Often self-sows.
