  1. Microsoft Windows 95 Deployment Plan
  2.  
  3. This Microsoft Project template gives you a head start in 
  4. setting up your deployment plans for Windows 95.  
  5. This template consists of a starter schedule of typical 
  6. project tasks and specially-formatted views tailored 
  7. for the Windows 95 deployment effort.
  8.  
  9. You can modify this template in a number of ways to 
  10. better suit your particular environment.  It is based 
  11. on the materials provided in the Windows 95 Resource 
  12. Kit, and should be used as a supporting tool and in 
  13. conjunction with the more detailed information 
  14. included in that kit.

  16. To use this plan, simply perform the following steps:
  17.  
  18. 1.  Install Microsoft Project for Windows 95 on your 
  19. computer.
  20. - Connect to the Microsoft Network from within Windows 95.
  21. - Go to the Microsoft Project forum.
  22. - Follow the instructions for downloading a pre-release version of 
  23. Microsoft Project for Windows 95 onto your computer.
  24. - *Note:  If you are a Microsoft Project 4.0 user, you can use 
  25. this template with your current version of Microsoft Project with 
  26. or without Windows 95.

  28. 2.  Run the Setup routine for the Deployment plan that is located 
  29. in the same directory as this readme file.

  31. 3.  Start Microsoft Project.
  32.  
  33. 4.  Select Open from the File menu, and open the Deployment 
  34. template (deploy.mpt) from the directory to which it was installed 
  35. in the setup process.  (The default location is c:\deploy\deploy.mpt.)  
  36. The template will bring up a set of Cue Cards that will guide you through 
  37. the process of using and modifying the template.

  39. 5.  If you have questions regarding any of these tools, simply log onto 
  40. the Microsoft Network's Microsoft Project forum, and submit your 
  41. questions directly to the Project experts.
