  10. The second theme appears again.  Although Beethoven elaborated and developed it with a string of modulations (nearly throughout the entire Development section), there is still something more he wants to express with it.

  12. Only the second phrase of the theme is repeated here by the first violins.  The latter are accompanied by the other strings and some of the woodwinds, playing only the first three notes of the Fate Motive in contrary motion with the theme.
