The rhythmic motive, again, has the last word. The full orchestra pounds the motive three times in full force and then 10 additional powerful chords bring this dramatic and compact movement to a close, affirming, for a last time the home key of C minor.
It is interesting to note that the rhythmic motive is repeated not less than 267 (!) times during the first movement, which means more than once every two bars!
