- Ole Doc Methuselah
-
- From October 1947 to January 1950, Astounding
- Science Fiction magazine published some of the
- most eagerly awaited stories of the decade. The
- author was Rene Lafayetts and he told of the
- fantastic adventures of a 700-year-old Soldier of
- Light, Ole Doc Methuselah, and his four armed,
- gypsum-eating companion, hippocrates, as they
- traveled throughout the galaxy performing medical
- miracles (including rescuing fair maidens, getting
- involved in local politics and even having time for a
- spot of fishing on the side.) In fact, Rene Lafayette
- was just one of many pen-names of the renowned
- master of science fiction, L. Ron Hubbard - and
- you don't even have to wait to read each story -
- you can buy all seven of them in one volume right
- now.
-
- "consistently entertaining...Ole Doc pays as much
- attention to the U.M.S. code as Captain Kirk pays
- to Starfleet's non-interference directive."
