Hedda Gabler
Ibsen Henrik
Ibsen, Henrik (1828-1906) - Norwegian playwright and poet who is often
called the father of modern drama. His works concentrated on individuals
in realistic psychological conflict rather than on groups.
Hedda Gabler (1890) - Hedda Gabler, one of Ibsen's most unforgettable
characters, is a bored and frustrated housewife. Repelled by her possible
pregnancy and worried about losing the luxuries she mistakenly thought her
husband possessed, she lures in her husband's rival who once loved her.
