Glass Menagerie and A Streetcar Named Desire
Williams Tennessee
Williams, Tennessee (1911-1983) - Renowned American playwright whose works
reflect the pain of his early family life and his admitted homosexuality.
He is best known for his works of poetic realism.
The Glass Menagerie (1944) and A Streetcar Named Desire (1947) - Two plays.
The first is about the Wingfields: Tom, his mother, and his sister who has
withdrawn into the private world of her glass animals. The latter (Awarded
a Pulitzer Prize) is about Blanche DuBois, a faded Southern Belle.
