-
- Aviator Screensavers for Windows are screensaver modules that work
- with the screensaver that is built into Windows 3.1. These screensaver
- modules feature aviation art by Bob Bennington and contain aviation
- artwork.
-
- Two modules are provided on the Aviator CD-ROM: Jet Fighters and WWII
- Fighters.
-
- The following 8 World War II American fighters are featured on the WWII
- Fighters screensaver:
-
- F4F Wildcat F4U Corsair
- F6F Hellcat P-38 Lightning
- P-39 Airacobra P-40 Warhawk
- P-47 Thunderbolt P-51 Mustang
-
- The following 8 jets are featured on the Jet Fighters screensaver:
-
- A4 Skyhawk F14 Tomcat
- F4 Phantom F15 Eagle
- A6 Intruder F16 Falcon
- A10 Thunderbolt F18 Hornet
-
- When one of these screensavers is invoked, it displays full-screen images
- of the fighters sequentially, as in a slide show. By using the Setup
- feature, you can choose to display any combination of fighters. For
- example, you could choose to display only the F4F, P-39, and the
- P-40 of the WWII Fighters screensaver. Each screensaver also features
- password protection.

- Copying the Screensaver Module to Your Hard Drive
- _________________________________________________
-
-
- The WWII Fighters screensaver module is contained in a file called
- WARBIRDS.SCR. The Jet Fighters screensaver module is contained in a
- file called FIGHTERS.SCR. These files must be copied to your Windows
- directory. If you know how to copy files, simply copy the files

-
- d:savers\warbirds.scr
-
- where d is the letter of your CD-ROM drive.
-

- Windows application. This is usually
-
- c:\windows
-
- 6) Click the OK button.
-
- 7) Repeat these steps for the file fighters.scr.
-
- The files should be copied to your Windows directory. Once the files have

- Choosing The Aircraft You Want to Display
- _________________________________________
-
-
- The Screensaver Dialog Box allows you to choose the airplanes that you want
- to display. You can choose to display any combination of the eight aircraft
- in the collections. The Dialog Box contains a group of eight named
- checkboxes. Clicking the appropriate checkbox toggles the checkbox.
- When the checkbox contains an X in it, the associated airplane is
- displayed by the screensaver. By clicking on the checkboxes, you can
- specify the airplanes that will be displayed by the screensaver.
-
-
- Setting the Display Speed
- _________________________
-
- The Screensaver Dialog Box allows you to set the time delay between
- airplanes. Three options are offered: Fast, Medium, and Slow. Fast allows
- 5 seconds between displays. Medium allows 10 seconds between displays.
- Slow allows 15 seconds between displays. To change the speed, simply
- click on the appropriate radio button from the Speed Options group.
-
-
- Password Protection
- ___________________
-
- The Screensaver Dialog Box allows you to set password protection for
- the screensaver. When password protection is turned on, the user
- cannot go back to Windows until the correct password has been entered.
- You can turn password protection on and off by clicking the
- Password Protected checkbox in the lower left corner of the dialog box.
- When password protection is turned on, you have the option of setting
- the password. To set the password, click the Set Password button.
- The dialog box that allows you to enter your password will be displayed.
- You must know the previous password to change the password.
-
- NOTE: The Aviator Screensavers are true Windows 3.1 screensaver modules -
- just like Flying Windows that comes with Windows 3.1. Therefore, the
- Screensaver Dialog Box uses the same password as the other Windows 3.1
- screensaver modules. Changing the password to any Windows 3.1 module
- (including the Aviator Screensavers) changes the password for all
- Windows 3.1 modules. In other words, all Windows 3.1 screensaver
- modules use the same password.
