  5. CONFIGURING SCREENWORKS
  6. The Installation program installs ScreenWorks by copying 
  7. the program files to your hard disk.  You now need run 
  8. the ScreenWorks Configuration program to select the screen 
  9. saver and wallpaper options you want.
  10.  
  11. To run the ScreenWorks Configuration program, double-click 
  12. on the ScreenWorks Config icon in newly-created Cedco
  13. Calendar group.  
  14.  
  15. You can also run the ScreenWorks Configuration program by 
  16. clicking on the Screen Saver Setup button in the Desktop 
  17. Control Panel.

  19. You will probably want to reconfigure ScreenWorks from time 
  20. to time for variety.

  23. UNINSTALLING SCREENWORKS
  24. You can uninstall ScreenWorks and its media files by 
  25. running the ScreenWorks Uninstall program and selecting
  26. the Uninstall option.

  29. PASSWORD PROTECTION AND SECURITY
  30. Although the screen saver provides password protection, this
  31. protection can be readily bypassed by simply rebooting your
  32. PC.  You should never use the screen saver as a means of 
  33. protecting secret or confidential information.

  36. QUICKTIME FOR WINDOWS
  37. QuickTime for Windows was automatically installed to your 
  38. system if it wasn't already.  If you have any questions 
  39. about QuickTime video adapter and sound card compatibility, 
  40. check the QTW.WRI file.

  43. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  44. ScreenWorks will not run correctly if your system does 
  45. not satisfy the minimum system requirements, which are:
  46.  
  47.      DOS Version 3.3 or better
  48.      Windows Version 3.1 or better (Enhanced mode)
  49.      80386 20 MHz processor or better
  50.      4 MB memory or better
  51.      256 Color VGA or better
  52.  
  53. The Installation program automatically verifies these 
  54. requirements, so you should not have any problems (aside 
  55. from possible QuickTime problems) if Installation ran 
  56. successfully.  
  57.  
  58. If your system does not satisfy the minimum requirements, 
  59. you will need to address any problems before running the 
  60. Installation program again.  If necessary, you can check 
  61. your system by running any of the following utilities:
  62.  
  63.      Microsoft Diagnostics
  64.       -MSD.EXE in the Windows subdirectory
  65.        Symantec Norton Utilities' System Info
  66.        Central Point PC Tools System Info
  67.  
  68.  
  69. AUDIO SUPPORT
  70. A 16-bit audio card is recommended for audio support.  An
  71. 8-bit card may work, but may not play QuickTime videos 
  72. well.
  73.  
  74. Although ScreenWorks can run without an audio card, you 
  75. cannot hear sound effects or video sound tracks without 
  76. audio support.  You can obtain low quality audio support 
  77. by using the PC Speaker audio driver, which can be 
  78. downloaded from CompuServe.  This driver can play audio
  79. files but not video sound tracks.

  81. To obtain this file from CompuServe, type "GO MSUSER", 
  82. select the Microsoft Software Library, search for "PC 
  83. Speaker", and download the file SPEAK.EXE.

  86. MULTIPLE CD-ROM DRIVES
  87. ScreenWorks searches for media files using the CD-ROM drive 
  88. letter that you installed from.  If you have more than one 
  89. CD-ROM drive, be sure to put the ScreenWorks CD-ROM in the 
  90. drive you installed from if you want to use media files on 
  91. that CD-ROM.

  94. NORTON DESKTOP FOR WINDOWS
  95. ScreenWorks is not compatible with the Sleeper screen saver
  96. program included with Norton Desktop For Windows.

  99. TROUBLESHOOTING
  100. Virtual memory is essential for running properly in low 
  101. memory situations.  Make sure that virtual memory is 
  102. turned on in the 386 Enhanced Control Panel.
