  1. What's on the CD This CD is an experimental supplement to the printed
  2. material in the Third Edition of Architecture: Form, Space and Order.
  3. Organized into modules corresponding to the book chapters, the series
  4. of digital presentations relates the conceptual to the perceptual
  5. aspects of architecture by overlaying photographs and drawings with
  6. diagrams. The selected examples are, of course, limited in number and
  7. scope, but it is hoped that the vignettes will help the viewer identify
  8. elements and abstract principles from what is seen in a book or on a
  9. monitor, and be able to see similarities in the environments
  10. experienced in real life or imagined while designing.

  16.   * A PC with Microsoft Windows 98SE or later and Intel Pentium II
  17. 450MHz or faster processor (or equivalent) with 128MB of RAM.

  22. G3 500MHz or an Intel Core Duo 1.83GHz or faster processor with 128MB

  29. Using the CD with Windows
  30.  
  31. To install the items from the CD to your hard drive, follow these
  32. steps:

  34.   1. Insert the CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive.
  35.  
  36.   2. The CD-ROM interface will appear. The interface provides a simple
  37. point-and-click way to explore the contents of the CD.
  38.  
  39. If the opening screen of the CD-ROM does not appear automatically,
  40. follow these steps to access the CD:
  41.  
  42.   1. Click the Start button on the left end of the taskbar and then
  43. choose Run from the menu that pops up.
  44.  
  45.   2. In the dialog box that appears, type d:\start.exe. (If your CD-ROM
  46. drive is not drive d, fill in the appropriate letter in place of d.)
  47. This brings up the CD Interface described in the preceding set of
  48. steps.

  50. Using the CD with a Mac
  51.  
  52.   1. Insert the CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive.
  53.  
  54.   2. The CD-ROM icon appears on your desktop, double-click the icon.

  56.   3. Double-click the Start icon.
  57.  
  58.   4. The CD-ROM interface will appear. The interface provides a simple
  59. point-and-click way to explore the contents of the CD.

  65. Adobe Flash Player is a freeware plug-in for running the content.
