In the touristic areas you won't have much trouble with the language. Tourism information bureaus, health stations, customs duty, banks, change offices, and tourist sites all have employees who speak foreign languages. Taxi drivers, policemen, and salesmen know enough English and German to get by. However, don't expect much help from villagers if you lose your way. They will clearly be well-intentioned, but be careful. Because you don't speak the same language, you may end up somewhere you didn't want to go.
