  7. INetUtils is a series of programs designed to allow an Amiga running AS225r2
  8. software (i.e., socket.library capable) or AmiTCP 2.2 (or above) to interact
  9. and operate as fully functioning members of an IP network,  including the
  10. global InterNet.
  11.  
  12. This version of INetUtils is freely distributable. A more fully featured
  13. commercial version is also available.
  14.  
  15. The utility programs consist of:

  17.     SMTPd        : an SMTP daemon
  18.     SMTPpost    : an SMTP posting program
  19.     SMTPExpand  : an SMTP aliases expanding program
  20.     NNTPpost    : an NNTP posting program
  21.     NNTPXfer    : an NNTP article transfer program
  22.     newgroup    : a maintenance program for use with NNTP
  23.     GetActive   : an NNTP active file transfer program
  24.     AmiPOP        : a POP message handler
  25.     Sabot        : A newmail activity program
  26.

  41. For basic help in getting SMTPd running, the following script is also
  42. included:

  48. AmiPOP and Sabot were developed by Scott Ellis (sellis@ucssun1.sdsu.edu)
  49. and all communication regarding them should be directed to him. Separate
  50. documentation regarding them is included in the AmiPOP and Sabot archives.

  52. To properly utilize the NNTP capability requires an NNTP aware newsreader
  53. and a mailreader. The 'G' package is presented to meet this need.
  54.  
  55. GRn is Gadtools Read News, which can properly read and post with articles
  56. via NNTP directly or read with the local directory setup by NNTPXfer, and
  57. post directly using NNTPpost. Documentation is available in AmigaGuide
  58. format (GRn.guide). Both freeware and commercial versions are available.

  60. GMail, Gadtools Mail, is available as a commercial package.
  61.  
  62. AmigaELM and the DMail from AmigaUUCP are quite satisfactory for reading mail.
