Battleship
{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}
Select option "1" to begin game
play. The caller must be player #1.
Enter names accordingly. The next
step is to place your ships. You
will be prompted to place each ship
one at a time, alternating between
the caller and host. Enter
placement coordinates for each
ship as follows:
(letter)(number)-(letter)(number)
Examples:
a1-a5
b5-b8
c1-e3
If you enter an illegal coordinate you
will have to try again. Players can
only see their own coordinates.
After the placement phase has ended
you will be asked whether you want
to play with salvo fire. Enter
"y" for yes, "n" for no. If you do
not select salvo fire each player
gets one shot per turn. With salvo
fire the number of shots you get per
turn depends on how many of your
ships are unsunk. Ships have the
following values:
Aircraft Carrier 4 shots
Battleship 3 shots
Cruiser 2 shots
Submarine 2 shots
Destroyer 1 shot
The computer determines at random
the player who goes first. To enter
a shot you enter a single coordinate
as follows:
(letter)(number)
Examples:
a1
b7
j0
If you are playing salvo fire you
may have to enter as many as 12
coordinates, one at a time.
After you have entered your shot(s)
you will then see the results. After
each turn you enter line chat mode.
Players may then make comments to
each other. To exit chat press
RETURN on a blank input line. It
then becomes the other player's turn
to fire shots. Play continues until
a fleet is sunk. You then re-enter
chat mode. When you exit chat you
will then be able to see the other
player's ship grid.
Miscellaneous Commands:
{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}{CBM-T}
If line noise corrupts your screen
you can force a redraw by entering
an "r" at a coordinate prompt.
Good Luck!
