  25. This is the mys-adventure's most poignant scene.  Calhoon was not

  27. inject a subplot of dubious fiscal integrity.  He hated to kill off
  28. such a promising character (perhaps for a sequel?) but the symmetry of
  29. the plot (as well as of the Library) required her demise.
