  8.     LOADSTAR is proud to present 400 of the best blocks it's ever published.
  9. 86 of them comprise the 100% ML program, DISKSERVANT, and the rest are
  10. devoted to a grand tutorial on things every C-128 owner should know.  I
  11. learned a lot from Alf's documentation.
  12.  
  13.     The five text files for DISKSERVANT explain in detail how it works and
  14. what it can do for you.  In a nutshell, DISKSERVANT will take care of your
  15. disk copying, file copying, disk formatting, autobooting, directory
  16. management, and several other things that every C-128 user, whether a
  17. beginner or an expert, needs to do.  This program is a true GEM!
  18.  
  19.     Read the docs.  You won't find that much useful information in one place
  20. anywhere in the C-128 world -- well, maybe in Parsec's Twin Cities
  21. Compendium books (P.O. Box 111, Salem MA 09170-0111, 508-745-9125).

  23.     Run the program.  Be prepared to be bowled over.  It does everything so
  24. magnificently I can't do it justice, even with my most bombastic prose.

  26.     Alf Jonassen made a big splash in the C-128 pond a couple of years back
  27. when he marketed THE SERVANT, a chip that added incredible power to your
  28. machine.  There was a demo of THE SERVANT on disk, but because it took up so
  29. much memory, it was practically unusable.  It was, after all, just a demo of
  30. the real workhorse, the chip.  When I heard that Alf was dropping THE
  31. SERVANT because of anemic demand (shame on us!) I asked him if he would take
  32. the DOS section out and make it into a useful tool.  As you will see, he did
  33. a terrific job.

  35.     The 128 world is dwindling, even though there were millions sold and at
  36. one time, the best programming minds were writing for it.  It's still the
  37. best 8-bit computer ever made and as long as there are people with the
  38. expertise of an Alf Jonassen writing programs for it, LOADSTAR 128 will
  39. continue to publish.  I'm going to keep looking in Europe, where the C-128
  40. still reigns in the 8-bit world, for programs of this caliber for LOADSTAR
  41. 128.  They won't be easy to find -- DISKSERVANT is almost in a class by
  42. itself -- but you thousand loyal LOADSTARites deserve the best.
